In short - This game is a beautiful callback to the old Gold Box D&D games and is generally fantastic.

I played through as a guild magos, 56 in game days, 14.8 hours to complete everything. I was really pleasantly surprised by most of the game. The eldritch horror theme, the gameplay, the characters were all really solid. Aside from some minor balance concerns (magic could use some work, Swarm of Gnats feels like better Magic Missile) the difficulty and classes felt solid.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending, but I also didn't hate it. And there's a lot of room for DLC or other games set in this world, and the world building is interesting. If you enjoy eldritch horror, or old school CRPGs, this should be right up your alley.

Cons -
No High Elves, no Dark Elves, No Wood Elves, no Dwarfs. Chaos Dwarfs will probably be the first major race DLC.

Performance is worse than Total Warhammer 2 at launch. Your mileage may vary.

Pros -
Playable dragons!

Cathay feels really good to play.

Tzeentch!

One coin goes to the Raven God.

The prologue is actually a nice tutorial for new players, and I like the presentation and story in it a lot.

A lot of minor QoL changes, like being able to tell a raiding army to get off your lawn or else.

Playable dragons.

Overall, outside of the performance issues (which I assume will be patched over time as they were with Total Warhammer 2) I'm having a blast. I would recommend it, but be wary if your computer is on the lower end.

If you're not familiar, Monster Rancher 1 and 2 are Playstation 1 era monster breeding games. Their gimmick was that you could use CDs (DVDs or words in later games) to create monsters. So it encouraged trading and word of mouth really well. This series is a favorite of mine and is near and dear to my heart.

As for the ports? Pretty solid. A touch screen UI hovers in the borders, but it's not horribly intrusive. I haven't yet encountered any bugs, but I'll update this if I hit any gamebreaking ones. The additional features and tweaks are really nice, and breathe some fresh air into old favorites.

Overall? I recommend these, and I'm glad that Koei Tecmo ported them. I'd love to see the others in the main series (3, 4, Evo, Advance 1 and 2, DS) or even the side games brought over. But mainly the core series.

Much better than Man of Medan and Little Hope. The areas are cool, the story is fun and figuring out what's going on was interesting. There was only one character that I immediately wanted dead. And Salim is the best.

This game is fantastic. The game play is solid, and the art, the humor, the music are stellar. Much love to the devs, and I highly recommend it.

It's a good Digimon game and a solid JRPG. Here's hoping they port Next Order to PC.

While definitely still a work in progress, the framework here is very promising. The classes are interesting, the skill specializations are a very cool idea, and the devs really seem to care. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

I polymorphed a zombified bullet into a chicken by shooting it with a magic sniper rifle crafted from a wizard's staff/10
