I have not enjoyed my time with this game so far. For 120 mins in, that is really bad. I was still waiting to find something I thought was innovative or new to the genre, or even something core to the genre that was implemented well. Nothing of the sort to be found here and I really do not enjoy saying that. I wanted to like it, but its just not fun in any of the ways I expected a tower defense game to be. I think the devs really need to answer one simple question:

Why should someone who enjoys Tower Defense games play this one over the other ones on Steam?

I also just wanted to point out a few specific things I think that are negatives for this game:
- Corrupted enemies that drop 0 gold. The rate of corrupted enemies is really high. I found that most of the enemies killed just didn't drop gold. I don't think this mechanic outweighs the complete lack of enjoyment the player gets by sitting there watching their tower maze not earn money during the round (or at the end of each round for that matter - you don't get round rewards at all). It removes a lot of the interactivity you expect from a TD game where you are actively building and upgrading during a wave. If 60% or more of the enemies aren't even dropping gold, the end result is the player is just twiddling their thumbs hoping their design is exactly what the developers expected you to use to beat the wave or level.
- Very little flexibility in terms of what works and what simply will NOT work ever in a given level. Meaning: the towers aren't balanced at all and the maps kinda suck. Success comes from finding out through trial and error exactly which tower they wanted you to put where and level it up at what time. You will not find success playing the game with whatever build YOU wanted to try. This is all at the basic difficulty mind you...
- Progression is so vanilla it hurts. There is no incentive to replay levels and try and perfect them unless you just like to see three stars. Typically you would expect progression to include some form of talent tree or something so your towers get better over time to incentivize you to go back and play older levels at higher difficulties. Nope. Just beat each map and try and get to the end.

This entry was so mid that it hurts and I really wish I could refund it.
