I don't tend to write many reviews but i think this game is really one of the special ones. Yes it is dated, yes it struggles on modern machines and yes it most certainly is a damn shame that this was the last fallout to really feel like a fallout. I remember this game coming out and being extremely hyped for it but for some reason or another i never got around to playing it, until recently. And oh my did i miss a beauty. If you've played fallout 76 or 4 recently then i implore you to try this out for the first time or give it another run through! The atmosphere is incredible whilst travelling the wasteland, the character interaction is wonderful and i wont spoil which vault but my god did the sound design department deserve awards upon awards. I've not dipped much into the survival as i tried to distance myself from the whole current standard's in video games, but it never felt like a burden and was fun for a while.

That's not to say this game is without its woes, in its vanilla state there are many bugs and in some cases will crash constantly on modern machines, this can easily be remedied by modding as there are a plethora of community updates and bug fixes however if you aren't interested in modding then be wary. There are also some modern game comforts that are missed such as sprint but to be honest the game map feels very natural and i never felt like i had to travel far in between something interesting. The worst thing to be honest is the soundtrack! Not for the choices but for the quantity of the radio tracks, you will inevitable hear 'Big iron' where ever your travels may take you and it will never stop.

To end a probably very long winded recommendation, if this game is on sale it should be at the top of your list, and if it isn't on sale? I still see no reason why it shouldn't be top of your list.
