Quick and unique arena shooter
I had a good time with it, it is pretty chill for an arena shooter but it offers exactly what it says it does + it has personality

Incredibly unexpected replay value for such a game. Go for the "The Story of a Lifetime" achievement. Game is also a great experience regardless of the speedrunning, plus its free.

Opinion:
Hands down the best CCG available today. If it's not too late for you, save yourself the trouble of playing the likes of Hearthstone and Shadowverse to join a much newer and fresher take on the CCG genre. Mythgard is unique yet you will still feel at home with it, it has the perfect balance of implementing new mechanics but maintaining old ones so it won't feel alien for players familiar with the genre. Another big plus and reason to jump in the game, it just launched a couple months ago (as of when this review was made) and you won't feel the need to buy anything because you are too far behind (Ex: Hearthstone), and the way the game is built is just amazing. Personally I don't think Mythgard will suffer from this problem because it is built differently, you actually feel like you are playing a deck where all cards are important and not something built around some really strong (and expensive) cards which carry the deck. Try it, you won't regret it.

Technical:
I will start off by explaining the very basics of how Mythgard works. Mythgard has 4 different card rarities, common, uncommon, rare, and mythic. Mythgard has a board with 7 slots in each side and each player plays with a deck consisting of 40 cards with no limitations as to how many common, uncommon, rare, or mythic cards the player has in the deck. The limitation is that each deck can only have 4 copies of the same common card, 3 of the same uncommon, 2 of the same rare, and only 1 if it's a mythic. Each player starts the round with 7 cards in hand independent of game mode (excluding puzzle) and draws 1 card at the start of each turn (except in the starting turn). In order to win, the player needs to deplete the opponent's health to 0, health varies a bit depending on which Path the player equips on his deck. Paths work kind of like a passive ability which varies on both how to best utilize them and their effects. Another important mechanic are Powers which a player also equips on his deck but works as a active ability which costs mana to use, Powers are more similar to the character abilities in Hearthstone where one heals, another gives +1 temporary shield, another gives +1 temporary strength for a minion, etc. The mana pool in Mythgard is controlled by the player, there are 6 different factions which have 6 different colors of gems which function like a complement to the mana. Cards in Mythgard have both a mana cost and a gem cost. To earn mana and gem you need to burn cards, burnt cards will add the card's specific gem color to your pool and +1 mana, the burnt card will be shuffled back into your deck and can't be burned again.

Mythgard currently has 9 game modes: Story, Puzzle, Melee [2v2 PvP Constructed], Casual [PvP Constructed], Ranked [PvP Constructed], Tourney, Arena [PvP Draft], Gauntlet [PvE Draft], and Brawl [PvE Constructed]

Story - Story mode is pretty self-explanatory, you have several different missions where you are matched against different AI opponents (PvE) and there is some story + dialogue to accompany it pretty basic but not far from what you would expect. Currently only Chapter 1 is available but it is an ongoing process and story mode really isn't the focus here

Puzzle - The puzzle mode is good to learn and pretty challenging when you get to the last ones. Puzzle mode consists of a premade board and hand for both you and the enemy in which you need to deplete the opponent's health to 0 in 1 turn. If you get done with all the puzzles available in the game and you really enjoy the game mode there are several other community made puzzles which are available for download.

Melee 2v2 PvP Constructed - I don't have any other CCG which offers this, Mythgard shines in 2v2. The board in this game mode becomes a 13 slot board in which you share the middle slot with your partner. You can't play minions in your ally's side but you can help each other with spells and if one of your minion's is in the middle slot your ally can bring it to his side of the board. The different plays and combos you can do with friends or strangers are extremely rewarding and fun, can't stress this enough, play it with a friend it will be great.

Casual PvP Constructed - Normal 1v1 PvP matching

Ranked PvP Constructed - Same as casual but with a ladder and ends up being more balanced because you are matched with players in the same rank as you.

Tourney - You can join tournaments for a fee (sometimes free) and if you get a good enough placement in the end you get some rewards. How the tournament works is up to the player which creates it because in Mythgard you can make your own tournament with your own set of rules. Tournament is really fun and isn't limited by almost anything, you can set ban lists, max number of players, pool prize, and game mode among other things.

Arena PvP Draft - Works like in other card games, you get a series of pages with some cards to choose in them, you pick cards and in the end build a deck with the cards you chose.

Gauntlet PvE - Same as Arena but against bots.

Brawl PvE Constructed - Match against bot, good for completing missions but not the best for an actual challenge.

Game Economy: Mythgard uses Coins as normal currency and Mythril as paid currency. With coins you can buy packs and pay the tourney entrance fee. Mythril buys all that shiny stuff, like portraits (which most can be won just by leveling up), board design, emotes, etc. You earn coins simply by playing the game, getting good placement in tournaments, or you can always increase your gain by completing the missions which are daily and by opening weekly chests. Leveling up and earning MAAT (always give the GG) also gives several rewards. In Mythgard you can unmake cards in order to gain essence and then use that essence to craft a specific card you want. There are also wildcards which can craft any card as long as it meets the requirement of whatever wildcard you get (Ex: A rare purple wildcard from the Core Pack can only be used to craft a rare purple from the core pack).

Keep in mind there is much more to Mythgard and this is just a basic overview of things, hope to see you all in game!

PS: I am not ******** on other CCG's I genuinely think this is much better and doesn't have what I consider valid problems in the others. I consider Hearthstone an excellent CCG but if I go into it as a free-to-play player at 2020 I will be mercilessly stomped and not just because the other player is better, whereas in Mythgard I feel like it is much more balanced because one day I may lose to a relatively new player and on the other I'll win against a highest rank player.

I love this game and expect the devs don't abandon it. With that said I am giving a negative review because I feel the game isn't updated consisntently and it is still very unfinished. There is a lot of polishing to be made and features to be added. However, I still love this game because they made a fine job in respecting the world of Warhammer and as a Warhammer fan that is priceless. There is still a lot of humour and character building to be added, which could be learned with Vermintide, but as far as the world goes they have done a fine job to this point. The gameplay captivates me, but certainly a lot can be worked upon, especially the melee which feels very easy and dull. On the other hand the naval battles feel perfect to me, the only thing it lacks is a bit of polishing. The ship battles are certainly the high point of the game, it is what brings me back to the game and I constantly have fun with because of the many different scenarios I find myself in. Succeeding in unlikely scenarios, where I find myself being chased by many different ships from different factions and destroying them all, makes me feel like a God of the Seas. The last thing which bugs me is the lack of importance of most NPCs and of sidequests. There is less than one important NPC for every port and the side quests aren't only repetitive but also don't give a sense of accomplishment. Improve the game to the point I hope one day I can change this review.
