Nothing I wanted and more.

I was a BIG fan of Bastion and when Super Giants announced Transistor I was more than excited, so you can only imagine my anticipation to play grew when the game became available on Steam.

When I first started playing I found it to be very different from Bastion. Gone was the beat-em-up lifestyle I had when I played Bastion and now replaced by a sometiems slower and more strategic combat system. Where Bastion gave you weapon and skill combos Transistor is ALL skill. You set up your skills at various access points and you use them as you duck and dive from behind cover, being sure to make use of the games Turn function.

Then there's the story line and characters. Transisto does something facinating here. A lot of the 'characters' you run into are actually your ingame skills and as you use their functions (HA!) you uncover more about said character and the world of Transistor. So Transistor gives you a completionist vs. necessity choice. Do you want to set that skill as something so you can learn more about that character or do you want to use that skill for it's combative use?

Music? Done by the same guy who did the music from Bastion. Nuff said.

Transistor? 9/10 (because perfection technically shouldn't exist. Though if it does, my money is on Super Giants)
