Took an Oxcart, dossed off to sleep, awoke being attacked by 3 Saurians, an Ogre and a Griffin..
Death came swiftly to my mere level 10 character. AND RIGHTLY SO!! FOR IT WAS GLORIOUS!!
But.. for the love of god..

IGNORE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS!
Why?! Because:
- It's only been 6 hours since release and already bitter people are whining about everything apart from the actual gameplay itself.
- If you're moaning about a slight fps drop, your life's pretty good.. Seriously good..
- Micro-transactions are not compulsory, and there's no pay to win, leave that label to apps on phones.
The items can easily be obtained in-game, and surprise, surprise.. not essential to the game at all.
- If you're having a technical difficulty, maybe report it and get it fixed rather than try to bash the game you've YET to even play. I've barely got mid hardware, and there's no trouble thus far.
- Fair enough, you've made a character you're not happy with and want to restart but are unable to, maybe they'll change that option. Hopefully your next character won't look like a pig.

Boycott games if you like, but don't plaster negative reviews for PITIFUL ARISEN reasons. These folks get aroused from bringing down fresh releases, growing up in a world of fluff, minds of childlike putty, with nought an existence before Overwatch came along. I've played a mere 3 hours at the time of this review, and the only reason I'm leaving a review this early is to try and warn potential players of the shark-infested waters that make up the average game reviews. Maybe my thoughts about the gameplay will change over time, but for now, from experiencing the game, it's exactly as what was promised! Would you leave a negative review of a restaurant because the seats aren't that comfy? No complimentary bread? Blasphemy!
Buy the food, eat it. You liked it? Oh, what a surprise. Now leave your review!

PLAY the game. Create your OWN opinions. Cogito, ergo sum, please!

It's alright.
A clankier, clunkier Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
Better than Chivalry 2 clunk though..

Chivalry 2 Current State IMO:

Chiv 2 has more pros than cons and is still worth trying, but I'll delve into the cons that hit you straight off the bat.

No doubt Chiv 2 will get better but atm..

- Kinda slow and clunky, I found the same for Mordhau tbh. But that's personal preference you could say.

- Continues block (nice idea), it makes slow dragging pretty much void in terms of it's predecessor. Then again, getting hit by a weapon moving at 0.1cm a minute shouldn't do damage haha. Fast drags don't seem so fast however.

- Feint is void for the reason above too, however alternating attacks to trick the opponent is a nice touch. Just a shame it's so slow, would only fool a snail.

- Spam kick, 10x more annoying than any abusive mechs Chiv 1 dished out that people complain about.

- A lot less skill involved in terms of precision, timing etc compared to Chiv 1 or Mordhau. There's a lot less footwork, and general acrobatics. No more jumping over attacks, headweaving or split-second crouches like in Chiv 1. Much harder to control accuracy too.

- Ridiculous bots, their only purpose seeming to be getting in the way 24/7, especially when you've wasted oil pot you've grinded, only for some swivel-eyed cannon-fodder to waltz in the way.

- Some of the career CDS need more work. That'll come in time though ofc.

- Dodge, given to all careers to lessen the slow combat movement no doubt. An improvement would be to allow attacks + dodge combo.

- Not as gank avoidable as Chiv 1. If you're up against 1v4 players, chances are you have no chance. Whereas that could be handled with the right amount of skill in Chiv 1.

- Mouse sensitivity. It's good to have a limit, it prevents excessive ballet from Chiv 1, however it feels a bit too low atm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

That's off the top of my head from what I've played so far. Anyone who has played both Chiv 1 and Mordhau can probably relate to this. Some of it is just personal preference. But ofc some will outright disagree for the sake of it.

So currently it seems that they've built upon what made Chiv 1 fun, which is great, however there's a weird blend of Mordhau + Over-Realism when compared to Chiv 1.

Many people were wondering would it have Mordhau mechs, or stay true to Chiv 1. Realism is great, but it can get to the point of being unrealistic, and not the fun Chiv kind.

But other than that, it has alright customisation, nice maps, good visuals, map interaction, decent balance in terms of newb friendly mechs, aside from spam kick (dear god fix that).

It's made me want to get back into Chiv 1, there's a large contrast in terms of speed and combat flow. That's not to say Chiv 2 isn't good, however Chiv 1 will always hold a certain magic.

Chiv 2 is far from bad, just needs to grow more, like any game of it's stage.

Aside that it asks for an ongoing subscription to play, after purchasing the base game.. the game itself is a touch underwhelming compared to other MMOs that are even older, and doesn't compel enough to buy into that subscription.

Also, a 'free trial' isn't really free if you're required to buy the base game..

If you enjoy Final Fantasy though, you'll like it of course.

Oh the shame, the disappointment, the bad decisions that've lead me to write this poxy review.

Would be great if I could play it. My specs are there, all's good, but it crashes before it even loads.
When consulting with the moderator about this little fly in the ointment, I'm given a half-hearted "I'll pass it on to the dev", only to find out ( from the forum undergrowth ), that the dev has taken the cash and done a runner.
Fantastic.. Granted I probably would have spent my cash on a different shoddy game, but I guess it looks nice in my library.

So if you feel like having £12 robbed but not in-person, and don't want to give it to charity, it's a perfect buy.

Early Access Review
Join a friendly tribe, have a little exploration of your new home, let curiosity get the better of you, and discover a door at the far end of a corridor PIN-locked. You get the PIN right after about five attempts... You open the door, with just your torchlight to guide you on the chilly, dark night. You find the room's walls rather cramped, the room seeming more like a cell... You take a step in, your torch revealing the grim secrets that your new found tribe keep hidden. Your eyes glance against every corner of the foul smelling cell, the cold steel room harbering the bodies of a dozen naked souls, some faintly breathing, others with a look of disfiguration about them. The haunting situation worsens after you hear one of the recently sedated victims of this vile nightmare open their mouth and utter a final word upon their lips. "R-Run...."

Well... I mean, it 'could' happen. It's not like it's happened to me... It happened to a friend.

2015: This... is good.

2018: This... is still good.

2022: When will this not be good?
