The game is better than the moveies. still goes strong even after development was seized.

Lots of good fun both as councilor and jason. lots of replayability.

I recommend!

Early Access Review
Hi! :)

At the time of writing, I've clocked in 650 hrs since release on steam. And decided it's now time for posting a review.

My review is based on the Online experience of the game in its current state.

I have also spent a lot of time in Space Engineers, which is Keen Software's other engineering Early-Access title.
Which is also the reson for why I decided to Support the game from the beginning, regardless of how it would perform as I see the game is also an experiment, Just like Space Engineers. There are several times through the years that I have quit playing both the games for longer periods just out of boredom. But I always come back. So, There's nothing to hide that Medieval Engineers are awesome games! And I love and support them.
The Devs at Keen are not working against us to make a bad game or experience. But In many ways are pioneers of the genre. In the ways which the Vrage engine is being utilised. But only time will show how much of the original vision will be sacrificed along the way.

Cons:

- Occational decync issues (i.e Inventories not working properly)
- Voxel bug (where voxels dont sync properly online. Making you shake and jump about while trying to mine)
- notable increase in server and client desync bugs and crashes while playing in large groups within the same cell. Making
large settlements a negative experience online.
- Chostblocks (where server and client disaggrees if a block is there or not)
- Still too few ways to build with the wallblocks
- No use of the A.I, besides the deer and barbarians spawns. No Bots for handling gathering and protection.

But Medieval Engineers still has new features on the horizon. so, it's going to be exciting to see what the devs have got up their sleaves.

Pros:

- Surival elements have been implemented. Hunger, stamina and health.
- Good online coop and pvp experience. Trade, diplomacy and war
- Immersive medieval setting with an improving choice of blocks to build with.
- Research progression to unlock different block types / Techtree
- Large mapsize and fast travel by road (Planet shaped)
- Great mods
- Encourages worship of Clang which might lead to addiction / antisocial behaviour. ( Players online errect pyramids and temples to the gamebreaking bug feature. And the culture seems to be expanding)

Buy it! :)
