TBH i stopped playing because of the balance DISASTER this game is but after they announced the Major update: Escalation of Freedom i wanted to try it out again. I spent 3 hours getting into a game playing a little bit and the game either: crashing, a bug such as "i am reinforcing you but for some reason you are not spawning" occuring, network issues, or people just fooling around and not being able to overcome the snowball spawns of this game...
And still there is something unique about this game when it is fun it is fun when it WORKS there is a good game underneath all the wrong balance decisions and technical issues. I wish steam had a "mixed" button instead of a recommend or not because there is potantial. That is why this game managed to capture millions when it did. I hope, i wish they can recover but i am uncertain...

Tbh i dont know how i am feeling about this game. After playing through the series as 2 diffrent characters it is safe to say any "deviation" or "diffrence" is just flavor text. The same thing happens regardless of what you choose. Basically you, the reader and the person that makes the choices, isnt the MC, the ronin is and they are a set character.

Also the ronin, as they are the MC and not the player, is problematic in and of itself. I dont know what kind of fantasy it serves but the ronin has been in a bad spot since book 2 and it needs to stop. He is always pathetic or brooding or suffering it kinda lessens the impact of things. I am almost desensitized, when something bad happens i am not at least bit surprised or i dont feel its impact. There were a few things that happened early on in this book that surprised me a bit but than the SAME EXACT THING happened 3 times over and i was done with it.

There needs to be at least some input from the player about the ronin's thoughts and emotions. I as the reader should be able to choose and see the results of my choices in a CYOA game. But by the looks of it, it wont be changing seeing how the book 5 went and gone.

I thought book 3 suffred in quality because of book 2 shambling about with pointless and lenghty plot lines but now book 6 will surely suffer because how book 5 is bascially the same as book 2. The only worthwhile books was book 1 and 4 because to me they had a clear cut vision at least. Book 1 is about the ronin and it sets-up the story, book 4 is about the ronin's past (even tho you are basically forced and dragged though the whole book), book 2 is a beach episode and book 3 and 5 are fillers or low quality arc that set-up the next arc. It kinda sucks it really is. It is sad to see these type of games dwindle and fade but it is what it is i guess.

The sad part is i will be here for book 6 because of a sense of obligation and curiosity but i am sure things wont change. I hope i get pleasantly surprised...

TL;DR: If you dont mind being the observer in a CYOA game the story is alright even tho MC gets kicked around a lot and it is depressing as hell... give it a shot you might like it

These three games was... it was an unique experience to say the least. I am truly at a loss for words that don't really happen often to be honest. I am truly moved, plain and simple. Secret words: Power, Grateful, Orderly...

I am rather conflicted about this game after finishing it. The first few episodes were really intriguing the skill system, diffrent ways of confronting people, the freedom you are given etc. It had some unique story and gameplay elements to it but after the supernatural elements came into play the story became lazy and bland. For sure there were some supernatural elements introduced right at the start of the game but they were seemingly brushed under the carpet untill episode 3 and was fully realized in episode 4. This is a 5 episode game btw so if the main focus was really the supernatural it became a core element of the story waaaaay too late. I really thought for a second that people were going mad by the utilization of some old artifact or something but nope the answer is much simpler and lazier. The ending left a bad taste in my mouth also, i was waiting some sort of moral dellima some sort of an evil ending of sort but nope the game does exactly as it forshadows. The big bad man does big bad stuff (oh no he must've gone mad) and you either stop him or you die case closed. The ending sliders didnt help at all either. The last part felt really rushed to me and it is apprent by the decrease of chapters per episodes and how much little there are in them. Overal as the game goes on you start to realize the lack of polish. The first 3 episodes seem to be solid but half way thorugh 3rd episode it starts to go downhill. It is just sad that the true potential of the game isnt realized...

"Best 'blyat' explosion extravaganza bulletstorm with a side of luck simulation" i've played in ages.

Dont ever, "EVER" buy this game if you are going to play it online. Your games will be full of invincible cars and people that is if you dont start combusting randomly or start ejecting water from your head. You cant even report these hackers because they will kill you so fast that you cant even open report menu. All the while innocent people will get banned beacuse of these hackers while the true culprits get away. If you love your sanity just go play something else, just leave, run...

It is only right to say that the message this game is giving is pretty accurate for our world and what you are doing is not actually that diffrent from what that "thing" is doing in the end, at least thats what i think. The game goes by "horror" but it is not that scary. There are some jump scares and that ringtone for the phone can catch you off guard at some points but the horror aspect of the game comes from it being unnerving. Even if it has a simplistic approach to gameplay it is a sufficient one. The use of a phone and social media is the best approach to telling this story. Also the story itself is really amazing how they slowly piece things together, how it progresses, the characters fells real like some people you would actually meet in real life, i just loved it. I personally recommend this game to anyone that wants to try it but if you watched a gameplay or something similar to it, it can spoil much out of the game but still it is a great experience. Now if you excuse me i will go and delete all my social media accounts... have a nice day!
