Everything Halo ODST, 40k, and Starship Troopers had plenty of opportunity in making. Good games don't require fat payed CEOs to make.

I love the 4 man team formula, but man would it be absolutely awesome to drop down in a hot mess kill box and just see dozens of soldiers fighting all around you. Game is good, more people would only make it better!

This Game has a serious Memory Leak Issue! however if you can fix that with either a mod, have good hardware or other stuff this game is amazing.

Such a original world. So many people play out the world after the end, but very little go the mile to make it a bow and arrow, tribal experience. I wouldn't say the game is stupidly complex, but hunting of machines is always a thrill and a danger. The world is so detailed with things mostly just the landscape it self is so heavenly beautiful. The rolling hills, overgrown forested ruins, the chatter of people talking, the design of the culture towns. I wish there were some small games to play in town like Red Dead Redeption does with gambling and card games. Honestly if there were just a few of those, maybe a house you could buy to design and I'd say this game would be perfect. It's almost there and hopping the sequel builds off of what this game does.

Grand strategy games as a genera doesn't give justice to how interesting and layered these games are. Civ 5, Anno, Stellaris, these grand scale economic, military tactics, long term nation RPG games really have nothing to compare to. They aren't your standard RTS like Red Alert or Starcraft, the goal isn't to win, you'd often quit the game out of knowing your going to win long before you ever get there because the fun is only found in the journey it self. This game can be a simple economic building game if you want to, managing populations, happiness, budget or purely tactical warfare with ship designs, ambushes, defenses. I'd say civilization rpg games such as stellaris are worth investing in not just for the fun of conquest, or nation building, yet to give you that rare chance to see things on a grand level. How small we all are and how we all are always apart of a larger structure either by choice or by force. I feel it's not only fun, but also fundamentally educational to the behavior of social structures if you allow it to show you.

At first I was very against this game. I love strategy games and hearing of a gears one excited me. Finally I could play as prescott commanding the full power of the COG militant society, build the great structures and fortress of the gears world on sera, but to be shown that this game only focus on the fighting alone with small squads.

However, although not as grand scale as I was hoping, the more free form of xcom combat more fitting to something of a DnD combat system freely letting you choose what ever order you wish to proceed with was very engaging, faster than you'd think a turn base chess game would be. The characters you pick up and build up is also very immersive. I had a character named bug, first soldier I recruited. built them up in almost every mission as the best shotgun recon soldier I've ever seen. So much so that I was able to complete an entire single man mission with Bug in the ruined city to eventually come across the first boss fight. I really struggled with that boss fight and it was only the sacrifice of Bug did I even have a chance to win. Rest in peace bug, I love ya.

Would be cool to have a multiplayer match fights in this game, but that's a no go sadly

Great game worth at least 15-20 hours so far. Would be so much better with multiplayer, but if not what kinda makes the game a slight dissapointment is the fact there is little enemy types or encounters. The building and economic side of the game is beautiful. Nothing better than actually seeing how your kingdom grows one peasant at a time. More military and combat option have been included since the beginning and I can only hope through the teams consistant dedication on this game they will add more. Military option and outside forces.

I'd love to see Tribes or Neutral factions building and surviving in your world,

Maybe a grand final battle where you build a fleet and invade the vikings homeland to get back at them.

Maybe Neutral creatures that roam and live among the islands you start on that only get hostile once you begin to take down their forests or homes. These would improve the games dangers and immersion greatly.

Best virtual board game you could ever play as of yet. still better than any sequal and better than any before. Solid game that has plenty of mods for so much more replay value.
