Early Access Review
Fun simple cooking game with support for co-op play. A few weird things here and there but as this genre of games stands, this is surprisingly one of the best available.

10/10 Game.

Awesome game flow, progression and replay-ability.

Passionate respectful developers who appreciate their players and aren't ruled by corporate greed.

I feel like a criminal not leaving a review for this game until now.

It's amazing, I was super hyped for it and played the betas every day until they were gone and picked up early access, pre-purchasing the game.

It had a rocky launch, but the game is solid and really fun long term with friends with the build variety from the card system.

The updates they did before stopping development on the game were great and it's a shame they stopped development, but I believe a second game is coming and that's exciting.

I do wish they added mod support to content with Left 4 Dead. I guarantee the game would have blown up if they did. Left 4 Dead's lifespan continues to this day because of it's modding community and it's such a free and easy way to continue getting content and players to your game long after official support.

10/10, pick it up and play with friends.

10/10 Remake.

Dead Space is one of my favourite series of all time. I've played and completed every game and if memory serves me right across console and PC I've collected every item and achievement possible.

It's just such a visceral, pun intended, experience and an incredible aesthetic and delivery of gameplay.

I remember playing the demo for the original Dead Space on the old Xbox and being mind blown by the graphics, horrified by the gore and incredibly excited for the game overall.

This is a faithful recreation and update that helps the game fit in with the other two games.

Dead Space 1 is incredible, Dead Space 2 is probably the best and Dead Space 3 is serviceable and a fun time with friends. but nowhere near the same level as 1 and 2.

I hope to god they somehow continue the series and make a fourth instalment or continue the universe in some other way, but until then, show some love and pick up and play this game.

Really fun game, lots to do, great with friends and it's almost unfair how cheap this game is.

Developers have put a lot of work and love into it and it shows by the reviews and lifespan.

If you haven't picked it up and played it, definitely give it a go.

I've got a lot of great memories with the game and always think about going back and playing it.

It's pretty good. 7/10

Good replay ability which is a strong suit of the Remnant games.

It's also a pretty easy (in my opinion) souls like game due to the focus on ranged combat over melee.

Fun with friends, good aesthetic, although I miss the Remnant 1 zones and for some reason feel like the first game was more memorable and interesting, despite being more restrictive with builds. Remnant 2 definitely has way more builds available and they're all equally fun and viable.

DLCs are hit or miss and unfortunately re-hash old content but overall add some fun items to the game.

Good to play solo, but I'd rather play it with friends if I had to pick it up again.

The best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game I've played in the last decade probably.

Feels extremely close to the first game in terms of game feel and doesn't have battle passes, a battle royale game mode or micro-transactions, an instant 40000/10 rating.

It's a great 40k game, one of the many wins in recent Warhammer 40k history.

Hopefully plenty of content to come, but what's already there is great and keeps me playing long after unlocking all current content and getting every achievement, which is rare for me.

Just finished the DLC and I have to say, it was rather lackluster. N'Erud was already my least favourite area but this DLCs inclusion has somehow made it worse. The enemies are boring and annoying, the scenery is bland and uninteresting and the story is essentially non-existant.

The only positive I've taken away from this DLC is the system changes included with the update and the new items added.

The DLC as a whole is very underwhelming and annoying to traverse with the crappy tacked on glider mechanic. It adds an extra element to the game with map verticality and with it the ability for the developers to be even more secretive with their loot locations but honestly it just bogs down the game and is an unnecessary feature to a game formula that worked without it.

None of the side areas were particularly interesting or memorable, none of the bosses either and the secrets were all hidden in rather tedious areas to access.

The Stagnant Manufactory in particular with the gas race mechanic was garbage and needs tweaking and the stealth section was interesting but lame that you get locked out of one of the two items possible for failing it, meaning you have to REROLL THE ENTIRE CAMPAIGN. The coughing sucks and was a fun gimmick to limit exploration space in the base game but is a nightmare to deal with while trying to traverse the dungeon whilst also dealing with enemies. You couldn't pay me to go back and do it again unless it gets changed.

Rating these DLC is difficult as you have to pick it up to use the items, but the actual content itself sucks... So is it a yes or no? Yes by default because you have to for more interesting builds and playstyles, and NO because the story, aesthetic, enemy design, general map layout and tacky glider mechanic were overall bad and I know the developers can do better.

Honestly after all the disappointing initial releases of constant lackluster and underpowered war-bonds (New Content), nerfs / removal of the easy ways of farming medals and super credits and the stupidly frustrating beyond anything else in the entire game addition of heavy flinch on ANYTHING that hits you interrupting you from activating a heal, I just can't in good faith give this game a positive review.

Any time I play this now, all I can think of is how long it's going to take me to get the content I want now and how frustratingly unresponsive the game is to my inputs, specifically the most important one, healing.

If they up the inherent rewards you receive from missions, including samples and remove the unbelievably frustrating flinch stopping you from healing, I'll change it to a positive, maybe. But as it stands, Arrowhead has FAILED to keep this game fun.

2024 Update, Post 60 Day Buff stuff:

Great updates / changes, feels like the latest warbond FINALLY hit the mark of having good content that's not nerfed pre-launch. Primary weapons feel diverse and impactful, secondary weapons offer a great variety and are also incredibly useful and grenades have great utility for many situations and play styles.

The FRV specifically, added with the Illuminate dropping has personally changed the entire game's feel for me. Gone are the days of having to hoof it for 15 minutes across the surface of a planet with any number of enemies hot on your ass in order to get 1 sample.

Now you can hop in an awesome car which can carry all your teammates and also has a gun (which should have more ammo reserves) and can zoom across the map, collecting everything and transporting teammates from point A to B.

It's an absolute game changer and massive quality of life to Heavy Armor users like myself. It honestly reminds me of the old days of playing Halo and doing anything with a Warthog, a fun time to drive around and gun stuff down with capable teammates and a hilarious time with the physics freaking out sometimes. I do wish that they add a flip car feature, even if it's unrealistic, because I've had the car dropped on a rock on spawn before and it flipped and exploded immediately and that should NEVER happen.

Overall, the inclusion of this vehicle is absolutely the highlight of the recent update and I hope to GOD it doesn't get changed negatively in the future. It is nothing but a BOON to the game having the extra mobility as it speeds up the game flow massively and allows you to easily collect point of interest resources.

This alleviates a lot of the frustration of earning medals, super credits and samples and has revived my enjoyment of the game. This paired with all the other changes to Helldiver gear and enemy spawning and such makes Helldivers 2 a definitely good game in it's current state.

The Illuminate are actually fun to verse and non-oppressive even on the highest difficulty for me, they also are able to be handled by a large variety of load outs and this makes them my favourite faction to vs. I do fear for the future of the faction, as their largest units are yet to be added to the game, but as they stand, they are easily my favourite faction aesthetic and game play wise.

I continue to leave this review as a no recommendation as a stark reminder to the developers not to return to their previous approach to development. They nearly killed this game multiple times over alongside Sony and they need to remember this. Helldivers is an incredible game and IP and we as players need to remind them that we won't stand for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and we'll happily let their game die if they don't make healthy changes that positively effect the player experience.

Let me be clear, I DO recommend this game in the current state it is in at the time of updating this review, but there is a history that needs to be acknowledged. If the games development continues forward how it's being handled currently over the next year, I'll come back and edit my review, but I don't forgive easily, and I don't forget.

Update 27/03/2025:

The latest warbonds following the launch of the illuminate have been pretty solid and added fun and interesting items to the games sandbox. The enemy factions are basically the same as always, bar a few additions including new sub-faction events with "temporary?" new enemies thrown into the mix. I'd say the game is pretty solid overall in it's current state. I personally only play a mission or two a day, so I'm not earning basically ANY super credits, meaning I need to pay in order to access the new warbonds. I understand that this is intended, Arrowhead needs to make money and if I was playing their game every day as others do, I could earn super credits, albeit WAY slower than previous patches. Again, this isn't necessarily criticism, just a note. Weapon balance is okay I suppose, the Crossbow is still the best weapon in the game, but they won't allow the Eruptor to be viable more than half a patch. Light and Medium armor still dominate the game due to mobility, and unfortunately Heavy armor, despite being my favourite aesthetically, is an absolute stick in mud. It will keep you alive, but you'll be trailing behind every other player and be late to most objectives which is very unfortunate. 25 extra stamina or faster stamina regen would be nice. As it stands, you basically run the enhanced stims every game and play around those for extra stamina bars which feels counter intuitive to having heavy armor, because you end up burning more stims getting around the map then you do in battle. Changes to some of the stratagems have been nice, one more usage of mechs is good but doesn't really see them finding more use than any of the other standard meta choices. Overall I'd say Helldivers 2 has hit it's cruising point and will probably sit as a solid game that people can come and go with as they please. For me personally, I play a game or two when I feel like it, drop the game until new content drops and then rinse and repeat. It's fun, but doesn't have the staying power of other titles to keep me playing all day. Perhaps if they add some alternative modes / unique missions, I'll be more interesting in investing my time, however as it stands, it's a fun hour or two when I feel like it.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. I like to keep my stuff honest and raw, so if it's a bit rambly, I apologise. Hopefully this helps you make an informed decision as to whether Helldivers 2 is the game for you. Happy Diving.
