Armed with wings culmination might very well be the best flash game ever made..... Which is why when I heard armed with wings: rearmed was coming out on steam and that it would be finished soon I was ecstatic. Sadly this game is closer to the older entries of the series. Timewaster puzzles. And a combat system that is far from the polished god tier bliss of culmination. While culmination was pretty much dmc where you could catapult an enemy into the air and juggle them like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ psychopath across the map only to land and drag more people into your combo...Armed with: wings rearmed has next to no combo system to speak of at all. it's mash a until you win. And the special abilities you do have are only good if you want to cheese them....I played this game for one hour. And not a single second during that hour did I feel like I was ever going to have fun with the title.

There's no jump button anymore. Not only does this give the game a lack of verticality but long juggling air combos don't really exist anymore. The only way to dodge enemies is to roll and rolling is a short distance combat maneuver. Problem with that is enemies often bunch up and attack together meaning if you roll to avoid one enemy due to how few invincibility frames you have while rolling. The enemy behind the one you dodged will always hit you.


Enemies in groups will come at you from both sides. They will attack while you're guarding against someone. They will attack when you're rolling, they will attack when you're in the middle of a combo and stunlock you so their friends can get in on the gang bang. And they will juggle you far better than you juggle them.

Winning fights in this game does not feel like you've bested a challenge. If anything its more akin to getting a tooth pulled. You're just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glad its over and wish it didn't have to happen....
