I've "studied" hypnosis for what must be around 10 years now - I put it in quotes as it's a difficult thing to study; however it is really attention which over time solidifies into awareness - it is a difficult thing to objectify so then to understand it better you have only your own subjective experience to go on - and at some point one has to take a leap of faith - one scientific model of hypnosis is the eight circuit model designed by Tim Leary and Robert Anton Wilson - you can find a copy in the politics of ecstasy (I would try and get an old second hand edition as I believe they had edited some of the stuff out of the "anniversary addition" - that book uses hypnosis, self hypnosis and other ways to get the user to ask certain questions in a manner and order which when on completion (and after using LSD or Ecstasy ((or a bit or a mixture))) that person is then elevated to revealed knowledge.
