As a player who progressed very little to none, I have to say Spelunky is a very challenging and charming game in an addictive way. What makes it so charming for me is how arcade-like it makes me feel. So many gimmicky things to overcome, just to die to another one, gives me the vibe of good old arcade saloons where you have to put another token in just to have another opportunity. That opportunity will keep you going no matter what.. Of course, I can't deny the cool features of the game that make it even more fun. I definitely recommend it, but keep in mind how obnoxious it can get in a short span of time because of Spelunky's intended nature.

If you are looking for a fun puzzle game that has interesting mechanics with some dry humor and stealth aspects sprinkled into it, this is definitely what you are looking for.

Out of all the games I reviewed, this one might be the toughest to crack open, and my reasoning for that is having so many mixed feelings about it at the same time. As a second game, I expected this game to improve upon some problems Little Nightmares had while keeping what made it authentic. Did Little Nightmares II accomplish that? Well... yes and no. When it comes to pros, I can't appreciate enough how smooth and dynamic the game feels compared to the prior game. I liked it a lot. Well, as expected from a following game, it also looks better. One last thing I want to give praise for is how creative they get with their ideas for gameplay; well, that would be like trying to hold a stick by its clean end while having both sides covered with turd because that creativity hurts the game as much as it improves it—well, maybe hurts it even more. But, why? Glupa, that makes no sense, isn't it? Well, think about putting a very strong engine to a very poor and weak tool. Would you get anything closer to the performance that engine has? Let me answer it for you: You don't. Little Nightmares II literally has the same issue Little Nightmare DLC's have except the crashes. (THANK GOD) Creativity is there. Ideas are there, but execution struggles again and you know what? It's even worse than the predecessor because Little Nightmare was a simple game with not too many dynamic actions in it, meanwhile Little Nightmares II tried to improve on that dynamic. Well, they did theoretically, meanwhile in practice, clumsy movement and unreliable confusing platforming made every questionable clumsiness even more unbearable than the first game because it's literally everywhere. I get the devs trying to improve on it and I appreciate that as well—well, I did as long as nothing questionable happened from Mono or Six. So, this was my biggest problem with the game because I don't remember how many times I died because creative ideas killed me more than it helped me or impressed me because they didn't get executed properly. Poor execution got even worse with Little Nightmares II. Lastly, without spoilers, I just want to say I don't like how random everything felt throughout the whole game about locations. It made me feel like devs were like, "You know what, let's add a monster that can do X" then tried to build around it instead of trying to make it natural. Look, I am in a school, now I am in a hospital. What, why? Couldn't they avoid any of that? I don't know. Locations just didn't feel ingenuous at all. I am fine with whatever devs want to put into their game, but at least make it make sense, so more players can appreciate it. I can say something similar about the whole story. I get the idea and all that stuff, but instead of making me get invested, it took me away from the game. I didn't like where the narrative was going, and that's just a me problem. Little Nightmares felt like a replayable game thanks to its simplicity, but I feel like some ideas from devs made Little Nightmares II a single time experience because how many cons can outweigh the pros in it. Putting all that aside, with pros and cons, I still think the game is very fun to play and so nice to look at, but I feel like Little Nightmares II is nothing but a downgrade to its predecessor.

Little Nightmares has been a game I heard lots of good things about for a long while and finally, I had my opportunity to play it. All I can say is it's definitely a decent time, but not a main game material at all. It feels more like a snack or side game than anything. I like how the game was designed, and I definitely enjoyed it, but I would be lying if I said the clunkiness of the movement and unreliability of platforming parts didn't affect me at all. One other problem was how vague everything sometimes feels; I felt like I had to die at least once to get over the obstacles in my way and I don't think it's a healthy thing to see in a game. Even with all of that, I would still recommend you all play it. It's definitely a good time, but don't expect anything crazy from the gameplay. Every other thing is really cool though, especially the dark themes and how different and special the game looks. The DLCs are a little bit problematic with examples like forcing you to return to checkpoint saves, crashes, or completely making you play the whole chapter again, but if you can bear that pain, I definitely recommend them too. All I can hope is devs getting rid of clunkiness in the second game. One can hope, ain't that right? Time to be the Red Riding Hood that bites back and show all those freak of natures what Six is made of.

Inscryption was one of the games that kept my interest for a long time. After checking reviews from others, it made me feel like Inscryption had everything I wanted until I actually played it. Then the opportunity came. I am sad to say it was nothing but a disappointment. When it comes to gameplay, it felt like it had so many unnecessary parts that kept me away from the game instead of pulling me in, like there was no time to learn and I was immediately put into danger in the woods. I tried quite a few times and I somehow did fine, which made me even more annoyed because I didn't feel I accomplished something other than pressing some buttons and leaving everything to the RNG gods. This made me slowly start losing my interest in the game, especially when the execution didn't impress me in the slightest. I can definitely say this game will be fun for a lot of people, but sadly I am not one of them. Inscryption definitely didn't pass the vibe check for me. Well, I might give it a shot again later, but I am pretty sure it won't be anytime soon.

Dishonored is what I would like to call Arkane Studios' greatest work and I don't even think Arkane Studios will ever top it in any possible way. When it comes to my reasoning, I want to start by saying Dishonored is not the perfect game or anything. What makes it so great is how everything is perfectly placed together, from its graphic style, soundtracks, action, stealth, environment, story and all the other mechanics. It feels like a miracle that won't be repeated anytime soon. So some stuff might feel outdated or clunky, but the rest of the aspects of the game will never even let you feel that, not even for a second and that's what really makes Dishonored that special. Outside of that, we play as Corvo, who's the bodyguard of the Queen, wo finds himself in a pretty rough spot where he got pushed, kicked, betrayed and all alone, until certain someone takes an interest in him and it gets even more exciting from there because there will be a new opportunity for our dear Corvo. That's all I can say without giving any sort of spoiler. I know I glazed the hell out the game, but let me mention one more thing that Dishonored does like no other. Do you remember all those games where they say choices matter, where you're slowly starting to notice they are nothing more than an illusion? Dishonored will do the opposite, where nearly every action in the game will have a butterfly effect not only on story but also the environment and NPC's behavior. Corvo's given new opportunity will leave Dunwall and its people's lives in your own hands to start a revenge campaign, of course up to you with how bloody it will get. Wait, wait, wait, it's not over yet. After all of this, I also need to mention those amazing DLC's Dishonored has. Not only are they amazing with new features, but they will also give a new perspective on what's really been happening in the background while Corvo was doing his own thing. So what are you waiting for? Go and take a stab at it, anyway!

Imagine a laboratory where there have been made so many heinous and twisted experiments on a specific creature and our goal is to stop it before it destroys humani-... wait, what? Phobia Game Studio really wants me to be the monster? Well, now things got so much more interesting! CARRION is a Metroidvania genre game where you try to find your way out from this Godforsaken laboratory while optionally taking as many lives as you want with you. First things first, I need to say CARRION is my first Metroidvania game and it was definitely a decent time, but it overstayed its welcome real quick. You might want to ask something like: "Buddy, you finished both the main game and the DLC in 5 hours at best. How can you say something like it overstayed its welcome? It's not even that long!" I understand where you're coming from, so let me tell you why. When you begin the game and start learning how everything works, it feels like a really nice and smooth experience. Then it continues that way with a few new mechanics sprinkled around it. I feel like new features are not only very few, they could have been used a lot more than what we got and because of that, the game starts feeling dry and loses its charm real quick. I feel like the game could have finished 2 hours earlier and it would have felt much better. Yeah, I know it would be an extremely short game, but at least it wouldn't lose its charm like it did for me. So, the game having a lot fewer features than I expected, meanwhile still having a lot to do in it, made the end of my run feel extremely redundant. So, that's a con I can definitely bring up. Other than that, it was a decent time. I just think because of that con, I might never play this game again. Not just because it's bad or anything, just because game felt like a chore after some time. Other than that, I have seen some reviews mention they felt lost in the locations and they felt like this game needed a map, but I completely disagree. The entire time I played this game, I only felt like I got lost once and it was at the end of the game, other than that it was really easy to find my way out. Overall, it's definitely a pleasant game to give a shot at if you are looking for a simple and fun entry to the Metroidvania genre.

I would like to start my review of "Tails of Iron" with one of Gordon Ramsay's famous quotes: "Flavors are there!" but I am afraid that praise comes with its cons. It feels like Odd Bug Studio had so many different ideas to bring to the game that are different, interesting, creative and sometimes weird, but not being able to connect all the dots kind of hurt the game. Like I said in the beginning, I can feel the flavors and it made me want to play more and more, but it always overstayed its welcome because something was missing; something that is called execution. That's why the most memorable parts of the game were vibing around the map, looking at the background meanwhile listening to the chill soundtrack and seeing how much the devs worked their heart out to make Tails of Iron feel as alive as possible and I have to say; it worked on me. I just think all the flavors I mentioned can get better, interactions with NPCs can get better, fighting can get smoother and all dots can get connected with good execution this time; then it can be one of the best games ever instead of just being its shadow. It's still a decent game, don't get me wrong; I just want to say I see the potential in those whiskers, especially when Doug Cockle is the one narrating it.

One day when I was randomly scrolling through Steam, I noticed "The Red Lantern" and it looked kind of cute. Reviews were mixed, and the game was cheap enough to buy at that moment, so I got it. Well... I couldn't play, because all I see is a black screen. I checked some fixes from Steam forums, including the fixes from the devs, but none of them helped me, just like it didn't help some other people. So I am afraid I won't be able to give an honest answer about "The Red Lantern" being at least serviceable or not, because you have to at least function and work in the first place, so I tried to give it a shot. That didn't work out, so I will go for the second option and recommend everyone to stay away from "The Red Lantern" because it looks abandoned. Well, unless we get a great patch, right?
