Pros:
Tempest Rising really scratches that old school Command & Conquer/Red Alert itch. Just finished playing both the GDF and Dynasty on hard difficulty and very much enjoyed the varied mission design, required use of both micro and macro tactics (e.g. can't just sit back in your base for 90mins, build up a huge force of a single unit and then win), as well as side quests in missions that reward risky players.

Cons:
The story was simply "ok". While the mission briefings were an upgrade on the "old school" FMV type (using Starcraft style 3D models is absolutely the way of the future (due to budgets and the ability to have so much more varied designs), the characters (especially on the Dynasty side), seemed to be quite disconnected with the lore and missions they were talking about. Maybe in a DLC/expansion or sequel they could expand on the lore of the world of Tempest Rising.

Changing my review to positive due to Sony and Arrowhead listening to the community and reversing a decision to enforce PSN account requirements.

Helldivers 2 is a fantastic 3rd person coop shooter. If you, like me, desired to see a proper "Starship Troopers" game, then THIS IS THE GAME YOU NEED.
