10/10 Fun Indie game. Plenty of content, amazing art style and fun game mechanics to keep you interested. So much fun I even motivated myself to 100% it by catching every fish and their aberrations! For sure scratches that Eldritch horror itch without keeping you up at night

Update: With the new DLC, it's evident that the devs intend to keep this game feeling fresh and adding new mechanics and funny looking fish to our experience. The DLC is well worth the price!

The start of an era for what would become Bethesda's successful Fallout 3D Franchise. Shame the steam version is plagued by compatibility errors, due in part to it being an old game, and partly because it runs on the creation engine. I cannot recommend this game enough to Fallout fans and people just starting out. If you must, buy it here or do what I did and play the original GOTY CD/ROM edition. Remember kids, CD Drives still have a spot in PC builds :P The game is true Fallout, without any add-ons of the future games, neither good nor bad. It has it's own charm and quirkiness being as old as it is. The DLC for the game is basically it's own game, four of which bring you to entirely new areas and one that expands on the already massive lore pool of Fallout; The Broken Steel DLC. All in all, this is Fallout, well and truly. Some might argue for the top down turn based style, but this game in single handedly responsible for Fallout's success, and should be given the respect it deserves

Ok, so I'm going to be completly honest in this review, none of this Nostaliga BS that alot of people seem to have with these games. And don't worry, this is a very positive review, but there are a few minors kinks that I'd like to touch on that most people have pointed out.

..........................................
The Chat System

This seems to be on the top of the list of things people hate about F04, but with just one or two mods, you can completely forget about it, like I did. However, this is a very big leap for Bethesda, from the silent protagonist, to this witty and charming voiced one. There were bound to be a few hiccups here and there, such as the chat system. Personally I didn't like it, it was too simplified, so maybe bring back the old chat system Bethesda?

........................................
Loss of the Karma System

Oh boy, this one. Now first off, the Karma system in previous Fallouts made a huge difference to who you are and who your allies are. You could be the Savior of the Wasteland, or be like the Anti-christ, killing everything you see. And even though there are still hints of that in F04, it just doesn't feel the same. I mean, you can raid Fort Independence from the Minutemen and no one bats an eye, but steal some Stim's from a doctor from any previous Fallouts, bam instant Bad karma. Now, the old system didn't have it's flaws either, such as the idea of whats good and whats bad to you, so if you steal and you think it's ok because of some unexplained reason, you can't, because you'll get hit with some serious bad karma. Now, it may have to do with everyone elses viewpoint on you, rather than how you see yourself, but we've been here too long.

........................................
The Perk System

People were not very happy with the new perk system, and neither was I. It's very clunky and had to understand for someone who has played the older games. Not much to say on this topic except, the old perk system was fine, no need to change it, but I feel as though this won't be a regular thing. It did take Bethesda 8 years to make a new Fallout, so maybe they were just dipping their feet in the water, trying new things, but it seems some of those were better off left untouched.

Thats really all I have, as far as my research could take me. Fallout 4 is a good game, through and through, but doesn't every game have it's kinks, it's things that make people absolutly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mad over. Now it maye have to do with how overhyped this game was and how it was expected to peak everyone's expectations, but that's not the case. No one game can appeal to every person the same, it's just Inhuman of us, we're all unique and different, with different thoughts and personality's, so appealing to a wide variety of people is somewhat difficult. In short, F04 is an amazing game with a great story, amazing gameplay, especially using VATS, and I heavily recommend you play this game and forget about the world outside of your room.

This game is amazing! No wait, thats too much of an understatement. Outstanding would be a better word. This is the first Fallout game I have ever played, besides the Fallout Shelter game, and I can see why people love this series so much. I'm planning on getting Fallout 3 so I can back up and start from the beginning and then saving up for the DLC's and maybe even Fallout 4. I heavily recommend you play this atleast once, there is so much to explore and do, and I've barely scratched the surface of this game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Cheers!
