Of all Monster hunter games, monster hunter world is the most 'new' friendly one in the series.
It has quite a few features that previous games do not have and you have more control over your characters movements and actions. It also has a modern art style which will appeal to most players new to the series.

Older MH games are more difficult to learn and play but is very methodical and becomes predictable with experience. monster hunter world is not as balanced as some previous games as some bosses are simply hard to deal with for certain builds or you MUST use certain armour skills to fight some bosses like vaal hazak with miasma.
Previous games the bosses were more balanced while still being challenging on fair ground.
