You should probably re-think the tray part of the build for your PC gaming esk.. A lot of gamers get angry and make random clumsy movements such as kicking they're legs up, swearing...etc. My point is, and I do this personally, sometimes you kick your leg up or go to move and you knock your knee right against that tray. If your tray is just sitting there that things going to pop off causing your keyboard and mouse to fall over which could damage them, and most defiantly piss you off more. My advice is to put some simple pins or wooden dowel slot holes in the sides of the tray that fit into holes in the cylinder while in place, acting as a locking mechanism. That creates a snug, secure tray while still keeping it easy to remove.
