The gunplay and environments are absolutely fantastic, even breathtaking at times. However, as said by others a billion times already, the story is a major step-down from the 2nd game. It's almost as if they focused so much on the gunplay mechanics that they ran out of time to make a good story that lived up to the standards that BL2 put up. I still recommend purchasing the game though, just find a mod that removes the dialogue for the main story if it really annoys you that badly
