In the beginning it excited me.
After a while it annoyed me.
In the middle it blew my mind.
In the end it left me a li'l empty.

I suggest to try it for a while. 23€ (or even less on sale) is not much and if you don't like it, at least you tried. It's not an easy game, though, but not too hard either and it's often not as relaxing as it seems. But if you like exploring it will give you some of the most rewarding feelings you've ever had in an exploration game. Lots of "Aaah"s, "Whoooaa"s and "Oh my god!"s included.

I didn't have had a game that made me that scared in a loooong time. It's actually nothing too special and I think the story was so so, but the atmosphere just killed me. Also the graphics style is awesome <3

Can definitely recommend. Nice little horror game with a very beautiful graphic style.

Spoiler Warning

This game was really stressful to play and I couldn't even finish it.
First, the trailer doesn't match the feeling of the game. The trailer suggests, in my opinion, that it's a funny game that you don't have to take too seriously. Well, there's nothing funny about the game. No jokes, no fun story. It's normal dark medieval times. Wouldn't have bought it, if I knew upfront.

Furthermore, I felt punished for every single choice I made and the worst is (and here comes the big Spoiler) none of your choices matter at all for the overall story. I don't have enough men for the first battle? I loose, because they all die. I do have enough men for the first battle? I loose and they all di- Oh wait! No, there's an avalanche coming and killing everyone except 20 of my soldiers. Wtf?
Same thing with finding the traitor. Not possible, no matter how hard you try.

It's really sad, because the game looks amazing and I can tell that there's a lot of word and love in there.

Short Version: Can't recommend because it feels like a cheap mobile game and Disney is ripping off.


Long Version:
I waited nearly a year before buying, because Disney said the full game will be for free. One month before it was supposed to be free, they said it won't. Thanks for nothing. Now they're selling a DLC for freakin' 30€?! Plus micro transactions ingame, of course.

The game itself feels boring after a short while. It's basically the same all the time, you just have to wait long enough for resources to reappear and log in each day. The maps are pretty small and the characters are all always nice and happy and love you, no matter what you do.
I recommend playing all the other nice life and farming simulators out there from small indie studios that deserve the money.

I started the game and already was too scared to play alone. So a friend joined and together it was hella fun! I love the combination of puzzle and horror and the feeling of being lost with the beginning of each new level. To find out what kind of monsters might be there and how they react on movement, sound or brightness, etc. was thrilling.

In contrast to what some other people said I did really enjoy the sewer level. It was way more relaxed than the ones before, so that one had enough time to search for items and figure out how the puzzles work.

Even though, I have to admit, that we restarted the game in easy mode very early. We just didn't want to be game over when being close to the end of a level. But I guess for gamers seeking a challenge, the normal or hard mode might be interesting.

The hotel level was my favorite so far! Please give us more of that! Loved the puzzles and the enemies were fun. Got caught by some pretty good jump scares. I liked that one was exploring different puzzles at the same time, so that there was always something to do and something to find out without the game feeling streamlined.

The only part that I found really annoying was the birthday party. If I'd have played alone that would have been the part where I'd have stopped playing the game. But with two people it is absolutely doable, just takes some time.

Very cute game. Beautiful graphics and lovely story!

The game does not have a lot of content, yet. You basically do quests and get rewarded. However the game world is very lovely designed and it is relaxing and fun to play. It also does actually have more content than I expected from an Alpha Version.
I think in comparison to other games the price of this game is a bit high for the content that you get. I played 2 1/2 hours and feel not motivated to play any further, yet.
However I must say that I found only one bug so far, which is also quite unique for an Alpha! It also runs fluent and didn't kill my computer or something.
(The bug I found was that it is possible to place things, in my case stones, in areas where the game tells you that you can't place them. So when they are shown red, you can still place them).

So all in all I'm very curious how this game will evolve and I am already looking forward to play a newer version of it! :)

Ich habe dieses Spiel zuerst kostenlos durchgespielt, da es auf einer anderen Seite offiziell angeboten wurde. Nachdem ich aber gesehen habe, dass es hier auf Steam erhältlich ist, habe ich es mir direkt gekauft und finde es für die Qualität noch viel zu günstig.

Ich habe insgesamt etwa 5 Stunden gebraucht zum Durchspielen. Wobei es zwei Stellen gab, bei denen ich mich gut verlaufen hatte. Das lag jedoch an einer Unaufmerksamkeit meinerseits. Ich bin schnell genug weiter gekommen, sodass es nicht langweilig oder anstrengend war.

Der Aufbau ist super strukturiert! Es geht entspannt los, wird aber schnell interessant, sobald man die ersten Zettel liest und herausfindet, worum es eigentlich geht. Spannung und Entspannung wechseln sich gut ab, wobei die Spannung stetig zunimmt.
Die Horrorelemente sind erst dezent eingebaut, sodass man in die richtige Stimmung kommt ohne von Jump Scares bombadiert zu werden. Spätestens nach einem Drittel fragt man sich dann, in welch einem Irrenhaus man gelandet ist und beginnt Angst davor zu haben, sich irgendwohin zu begeben. Gleichzeitig ist es aber auch so spannend, dass man unbedingt wissen will, wie es weiter geht.

Die Steuerung ist super simpel und macht keinerlei Probleme.

Das Game Design ist fantastisch! Man weiß eigentlich immer was zu tun ist und wird durch das Design "geleitet". Egal wo man lang geht, man hat das Gefühl sich selbst entscheiden zu können und dass darauffolgende Dinge immer im richtigen Moment passieren.
Das Sound- und Lichtdesign hilft ebenfalls dabei den Spieler zu lenken und schafft auf sinnvolle Weise eine Vertiefung der Atmosphäre.

Lediglich gegen Ende hatte ich das Gefühl, dass der Entwickler eins, zwei Stellen mit unterbringen wollte, die zwar sehr gut gelungen waren, jedoch nicht so richtig in die Story hinein passten und sich daher anfühlten, als wolle er das Spiel in die Länge ziehen. Die Atmosphäre hat es jedoch nicht zerstört.

Ich für meinen Teil bin sehr anfällig für Horror und musste zwischendurch Pause machen, weil es zu anstrengend gruselig war. (Im positiven Sinne wohl gemerkt!)

Der Dude Simulator ist ein low-poly indie game, das den Spieler direkt in die Welt wirft ohne große Erklärung oder Tutorial.

Dies macht meiner Meinung nach auch den Charme des Spiels aus. Man muss es selbstständig erforschen. Schnell fragt man sich, welche Möglichkeiten es gibt und ob ein Sinn oder ein Ziel existiert.
Über Letzteres kann man sich durchaus streiten. Der Sinn besteht quasi darin, durch die Gegend zu laufen und mit vorhandenen Mitteln Leute zu verärgern, seine Dude Armee aufzustellen oder Geld zu sammeln um immer stärkere Waffen auszuprobieren.

Die Möglichkeiten und die Steuerung werden allerdings nicht erklärt. Ich musste erst einmal durch die Welt laufen und mich verprügeln lassen, bevor ich rausgefunden habe, dass mit dem Mausrad die Optionen durchgewechselt werden konnten.

Ich muss jedoch sagen, dass ich für eine recht kurze Spielzeit (etwa 1 Stunde) sehr viel Spaß mit dem Spiel hatte. Die Pinkeloptionen und auch das Spucken habe ich als zu platt empfunden um darüber lachen zu können, aber das Hühnchen war der Hammer! Die Geräusche haben das Geschehen humorvoll untermalt.

Für die kurze Spielzeit empfinde ich den Kaufpreis als überzogen. Zwar sind 4€ nicht die Welt, jedoch existieren etliche Spiele, die einen (für mich) größeren Mehrwert bieten und sehr viel günstiger angeboten werden.
