Very simple but very useful memory game for reinforcing and learning hiragana/katakana and vocabulary.

A few new words each level and according to the in game map there are over 600 levels(idk I stopped scrolling at 600).
That's a lot of words.

Recommend being at least a little familiar with Hiragana before starting.

It had promise though very rough around the edges when it came into EA 3 years ago.
Been 3 years of suspect and middling progress and I can't recommend it now that there are so many other/better builder/survival games out.

The description promises a "harsh" middle age environment and "the ultimate medieval experience"
But it never ended up feeling anything like that. More like an awkward medieval theme park.

I think this quote from a Dev in defense of the age villagers must be in order to perform work being 18(yes no work or marriage until they are the legal age of adulthood in the United States of America because that is relevant in Medieval Europe) sums up the direction of development.

It was also common for women to die in childbirth, people to contract horrible diseases, famines, crop failure, children dying before ever even learning to walk, random acts of immense cruelty and injustice and much more. All of that is not part of this game. Simply because it remains a game, with gameplay elements, and fiction, which is by nature selective and only loyal to itself, if at all.

It's a very shallow medieval theme park.
You can get some good screenshots if you are creative with village building but unfortunately after the buildings have been placed and built and the screenshots are taken anything to do with the villagers is very sterile.
There are no stakes. Nothing to lose. Not much to gain.

It was good once.
The story telling potential was great with the help of mods for a long time.

As the people who care about the creative aspect of this game leave(modders)
And the tinkerers keep tinkering because they need an excuse to keep their job(devs)
The game becomes more complicated but simultaneously less functional

Some colony sims feel shallow and number focused.
Numbers go up is the payoff.
Some colony sims somehow allow you to feel like you are taking care of people.
The well-being of your people is the payoff.

This is the second and rarer kind.
It feels a lot deeper than it is and that's great actually.

The economy is still meaningful.
There is real scarcity and I appreciate that a lot.

Bare minimum it could use more scenario/map/difficulty customization.
But it really deserves some DLC which could be taken in many directions not yet explored in the gaming space.

Unfortunate addition to the growing trend of slapping stale, featureless, empty female protagonists onto low effort, no talent projects and begging for people to go easy on it because women.

1st interaction in the game is picking up a fictional comic and commenting on how it lacks role models for girls.
So does this game.

This could be one of the most important games on Steam.
It is what it says it is.
It works.
It's good.

Only partial Keyboard Support.
Yeah.. another lazy PC FPS with partial keyboard support.
You can only rebind some selected inputs.

Want to rebind movement keys? Not possible.
Laziness on the level Lethal Company but without the Twitch Bandwagon.
