TL;DR
Dark souls 2 is the most different game out of the 3, The way gameplay plays out is pretty much the same as the others but the challenge comes more from navigating the maps than fighting enemies. DS2 probably has the most pitfalls and traps in all the series. The game feels twice as long as it should be with very mediocre boss fights.

  Gameplay
  Gameplay runs pretty much the same as any other Dark souls game you either go strength , dex or a spell build. Like I said before there’s not really any super tough enemies that take time and practice to beat, your mainly going to die to traps and pitfalls. 90% of enemies are dudes in armor, so your going to expect them running in swinging, the main monster that I can think of that is scary to fight is easily avoided by lighting a torch. DS2 is also notorious for having 2 of the worst bosses in the series, covetous demon and the congregation, but at the same time is also has arguably the 2 hardest(fun) bosses, Fume knight and the darklurker. Once again the game runs for way too long and your going to forget most bosses when your finished only having a select few that stand out. Once you get the 4 primal souls , your most likely 1/3 of your way through the game which isn’t bad on your first playthrough but , if it’s a second you realize how much trash you have to go through.

  Timey windy nobody really cares or knows dark souls story. Still heavy in lore which I always appreciate.
  
  Characters
  The characters are memorable in this, although there aren’t really any continuing story with any except maybe pate and Creighton. All in all most characters you met are either covenant givers or vendors.
  
  
  Art/Graphics
  Majula is probably my favorite hub in the dark souls series just because of how beautiful it looks when you first come out the tutorial cave. But there are others like the jpeg that is iron keep. This dark souls has an affinity for water as most areas have a large mass, and even iron keep has a massive lava sea for you to fall into. This game did introduce a lot of cool armors and weapons that would be used in dark souls 3.

TL;DR
Owlboy is one of the most detailed pixel art games I’ve seen in recent years. Controls are fluid and easy too pick up. Exploring is beneficial as you can collect coins to upgrade your weapons or get a hat. The Story is played out to be the stereotypical collect the 3 magic plat devices to save the world, but the throw in an interesting twist.

Otus is able to do one thing and that’s fly, while you literally do all the heavy lifting. Your party members do all the shooting and blasting. There’s nothing too complicated in terms of gameplay its basically like playing a softcore bullethell. Certain characters are better to use in every situation but its never shown which is best.
As you play you think its just a stereotypical adventure game of a boy being a complete loser to a glorious hero. Collect the 3 magic plot devices except theres actually a pretty funny twist. Progressing through the game is pretty straight forward just go to each temple and get the thing. Go to where the final boss and then the actual final boss, that adventure games are so fond of.
The characters are the best part of this game, all are enjoyable and have great development. No character is alike and the designs of the character really convey the emotions and thoughts of the characters. There are only a small group of character I thought didn’t add anything and that was the bully owl students.

Holy Balls the art is good you can see each screen being displayed in the louvre. My favorite design is probably the basic pirate ship I just love how warped it looks. Like everything about the art is top notch the colors used the life it gives the world, the way it conveys the situation Otus and co are in.

TL;DR
Sleeping Dogs is one of the best martial arts game I have ever played, The story, scenery and gameplay make it feel like you’re in a martial arts cop movie. It all plays out as expected. You are able to adjust your play style to be more like a cop or a criminal, each give you special benefits.

As a martial arts game there would be a lot of focus on the melee system and it shows making hits fell painful and showing some brutal finishers, you feel like you are the main character of an old martial arts movie and there are costumes that add towards that feeling.

If you have ever watched an old martial arts cop movie the story is pretty predictable in its main points, but there are so many enjoyable moments throughout the game and a few that leave you speechless. That one scene from mafia 2 has nothing on this game. There is quite a lot of content in the story making for hours of entertainment

I don’t think I disliked any character in this entire game, all of them add to the family feeling of the story and are all unique and interesting. You really do feel attached to these characters and want to protect them as much as the main character does, you feel like you belong in this family of crime but still feel like you have a duty as a cop.

Sleeping dogs takes place in a very lively Hong Kong you are able to travel from a slum to a cramped neighborhood to a high class shopping area in just a few minutes the map is cramped up but I feel that works for the game, seeing how the most interesting part of the game is the combat you don’t want to spend too much time driving around. They are able to get everything in these cramped areas giving them high details and luscious variety.


Jump Kicking people is a fun way to get around.

TL;DR
Rayman Legends is a very laid back platformer with stunning visuals and interesting uses of sceneries and objects. The best way to describe the game is a pleasant and easy platformer with a really nice soundtrack. Rayman Legends is a modern 2-D platformer that I would recommend to pick up to anyone interested in trying a platformer or a veteran of platformers.

Rayman Legends has really nice controls that work well with the floaty characters, if your playing multiplayer it is impossible to get a game over. There are so many levels and in those levels there are so many collectables , so hours of content is made without much effort.

The story is not that complicated or anything very serious, its like the plot of a 30s cartoon. The actual “cutscenes” in the game are very cute and quite funny with slapstick humor. You’ll mainly be blasting through the game trying to get all the collectables, not really paying attention to the story.

The art style in this game is so easy on the eyes with colors and the scale they show the world in is so stunning, everything on the screen looks alive and thriving, best description of the style is saying its like a moving painting.

TL;DR
HITMAN is a fantastic stealth action game with multiple objectives and challenges, that are approachable from many angles. It is a fantastic game with really fun gameplay that all the maps have beautiful environments and are quite large that makes scouting super important. Interactions between npcs and 47 are quite humorous to listen too. The AI has some problems where they get stuck in certain areas and won’t see things right in front of them.

Having a Large explorable maps are a great way to add many challenges that creates huge replayablility. This is one of the top stealth games in recent years. You plenty of time to explore and find the best angle. You will have to buy the episodes to unlock all the maps which is a downside but in my opinion worth it because for every map you gain about 30 hours of fun per map, and with the exclusive contracts always coming back even maps completed 100% you can go back to and find a new angle.

The story of HITMAN has always been the weakest point of the game and usually follows the same plot. The most interesting part story wise is listening to what’s happening while your hunting to your target and why your looking for them.

Information on agent 47 is limited like it should be, the most information on any characters is on the targets. You will receive the reason why a contract was put on them and will get random info from passersby’s while exploring.

The maps are super large and extremely detailed, allowing you to reach parts of the map you’d never expect and that allows you to take the assignations to new levels. The is a massive variety of places to play on such as America, France, Bangkok and Japan you are easily able to tell which map your on and they’re very easy to navigate.


I would recommend getting the Entire First season instead so that you are able to enjoy all the maps and it is absolutely worth it.

TL;DR
An extremely artistic and beautifully artistic game that tells the story of a kid becoming a man. It is delivered with a silky narration that tells you the story as its happening. Fight your way through a plethora of enemies to restore the world that was mysteriously destroyed.

The Isometric viewpoint is done so well in this game, your character is positioned at just the right distance from the camera, no enemies will come out of nowhere.so you’ll never be truly overwhelmed and get a cheap loss. There is an arsenal of weapons to choose from to best suit your fighting styles and unlock a variety of upgrades to even further develop your style.
The Story is quite simple with a twist ending that is revealed early on if you pay attention. While not being that strong, what makes this game is the narration and the soundtrack. The narrator has a fantastically deep voice that has a slow southern drawl and he narrates everything with heart and soul. The beautifully composed original soundtrack brings the world alive it fits so well with a unique western orchestra style that adds such grandeur to the game.
The past of the characters is not touched on very much, the way the characters are delivered are by the way the they interact with relics and the world. You only actually interact with 4 characters throughout the entire game the way the kid talks and helps them make them feel like a real family.

While the animations are not very fluid, the colors and design just make the destroyed world so vibrant. It’s one of the few after world destruction game that blasts you with color. There is an effect in the game that just adds to the narration of the Kids adventure the world will literally form as you explore and the narrator will only comment on what you can see.

TL;DR
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is a very violent, loud and satisfying Warhammer game. The guns are all super fun to use and sound like hand cannons. The story is the usual affair with Warhammer games where orcs are running amuck but the chaos space marines are the real enemy, its never been the most complex or very interesting story, the gameplay is the main factor which can be a little repetitive but very entertaining for the first while. The multiplayer is also quite fun with multiple game modes and fighting styles to use. It’s also a pretty accurate game to the Warhammer universe.

The Gameplay in Space Marine is the best part of the game for sure with loud and badass guns everything has explosive shots and make enemies just pop. Throughout the game, you will be given a variety of weapons to switch out and all of them are satisfying to play with either using a giant hammer your regular chainsword or a jump pack is super fun to play with. The problem is once your about half way through the game it get repetitive as you will tend to stick with certain weapons and you’ll be fighting hordes of the same enemy, it will start to feel more like a wave based shooter than an action game.

The story pretty predictable with an odd twist at the end that I wasn’t sure that I liked. The rest of the game it’s just the regular Warhammer jargon of orcs are bad let’s go stop there waaaagh and oh the chaos are here doing demon stuff let’s stop them now. It’s a basic Warhammer game story but it’s still nice to hear and fits nicely.

The characters are forgettable as they essentially all warriors conversations are like listening too two slabs of concrete talk, they do stick to their race stereotypes orcs sounds like lobotomized Scotsmen , chaos all sound like angry and overconfident warriors and space marines sound like slabs of concrete.

The game looks great and all the models look like what your imagine, bulky space marines cant jump or run really fast and the orcs are of varying sizes and easy to distinguish. Everything in the game looks like actual Warhammer models. The sound design is great as well you are submersed in an actual waaagh and have to be cautious at all moments throughout the game.

TL;DR
Castle crashers is an adorable side scrolling beat em up, with cute characters and colorful environments. Castle Crashers has the common story of rescue the princess(es) from the villain that taunts you through your journey. A button mashers dream of a game nice visuals a decent soundtrack and a wide variety of character skins. There are many secrets to find and many characters to unlock, it’s a visually funny game and is very replay worthy. If you don’t want to go through the entire story with friends, there is a whole section of minigames you can play to score points and compete against friends.

The gameplay of castle crashers is very simple and gets repetitive pretty fast but while it lasts you can choose to focus on magic, speed or strength, each focus on which but you will be mashing your arrows, spells or just regular weapons. There are many characters to unlock and require specific challenges to be complete, which makes this game quite fun for those that like mass collection games. The is a very odd difficulty spike in some levels especially the ice area so it will grab your attention back in the later stages. The boss fights are quite nice and varied,

The story is the classic charming story with princesses that need recuing form there kidnappers, castle crashers throws funny twists and turns throughout the adventure, you come across varied lands form forests full of bandits to flying castles cursed with magic. Behemoth have done a great job creating a light and very funny tone with tones of parodies.


Dan Paladins art style is a staple in the Behemoths games and I love it so much, everything looks cute and charming while being bouncy and simple, nothing seems static and the environments are beautiful and memorable and the characters while all very similar gameplay wise have unique designs.

TL;DR
Dark Souls 3 is a lore ridden dark fantasy RPG with stunning visuals and great gameplay. The average dark Souls experience is fighting a boss and following a pattern to win, run away and hit twice then run away again, but when the boss is low you get a little greedy and go in for a third strike, the boss then pummels you into the ground and throwing you against the walls, there was no one to blame but yourself.
Dark souls 3 is very close to the classic dark souls experience but adding some of the speed and designs from bloodbourne, The areas are all beautiful and as you travel around you’ll see how the world is connected. Enemies have are beautifully designed spanning from decrepit knights and monstrous experiments of magic

dark souls 3 has a more fluid and improved gameplay then its predecessors clunky combat. Combat is fast and deadly where standing still is never a good thing. Throughout the game you will find items and weapons that can change your style of fighting with many options to choose from. The game is hard but completely fair all enemies have certain attack patterns and you’ll learn how to dodge/parry most of them the key to the game is skill and knowledge not RNG.

Boss fights are as exhilarating as ever but with much more speed and elegance to them than the previous dark souls series and with hit detection being on point each boss fight is memorable. There are many NPCs and other players you can summon in for areas but at the cost of all enemies getting more hp. The PVP system is great and thriving with new people and veterans alike. If you don’t summon in another online player then you will only be invaded in a non-covenant area once. There are many people who will help with areas to random people thanks to the covenant rewards and the fact you get souls for it.

The Dark souls universe usually repeats the main plot where you have to choose whether to repeat history to continue the age of fire or go into a new dark age. The game really makes you feel like your going on an epic adventure that will change the world. Every pebble in the game has a paragraph of lore behind it, even if you don’t want to play the game going on the wiki and just reading item descriptions and boss lore is so entertaining.

While the game might not have any actual objective markers there are sequences you can do that will bring characters to the hub world and unlock certain items. I can only think of one npc that has little backstory but kirk was a character that appeared in a previous game as well so I think that makes up for it. Every other character has a backstory or lore around them so you get to know why they are in the cursed land.
It is very possible to miss a character I don’t believe there are any characters you need to find for progressing in the main story. After finding a character there will be a specific requirement to progress through their story.

The art and area design of this game is stunning. The aesthetic is truly a dark fantasy world that has been cursed for eternity and ruled by madness. Bosses fit the area they are in and look like actual residents the animations are fluid and fit the way that the bodies look and the effects particles just add to the beauty.

DeadBolt is great fast paced side scrolling shooter, you have options to stealth through levels and take each enemy out individually or you blast your way through the levels hoping that the enemies don’t react in time. The story and characters of the game isn’t that strong but they are enough to keep you interested.

The guns are all different as the damage noise and range changes for everyone, and you do have to be conservative with ammo. I personally found myself using melee weapons most of the time as throwing them is so powerful and can take out most enemies in one hit.

The levels are nicely laid out with most have multiple entrances. There are many ways to tackle each level and searching around is almost essential, there are many things in the environment you can use to hide behind or draw out enemies. I found myself never using the cover system as enemy ai wasn’t that great.

The models in the game where quite nicely made although there was only one per enemy type, DeadBolt had some nice detail in the maps and I was in love with the design of the final level.

There is replayability to get all the weapons and 5 star each level. The best feature is the mission editor, you can download public ones form steam as well so you are getting much more content from the game.
