Anyway despite Capcom's best efforts to claim financial and moral bankruptcy their continued and unwarranted conspiracy against Rose has finally been thwarted so at least that is one thing that is not awful about this game any more possibly : (

Thumbs up only because there is no thumbs sideways it is really close to thumbs down buff Vega or it is happening : (

I played this entirely as an actual roguelike (never used the vault to transfer items to new games), up through not-quite-hardest difficulty with the majority of classes and it was pretty enjoyable.

Playthroughs are pretty brisk and there are plenty of quirks to the way the game works and the way different classes act that, while it's not a game I'll continually return to and play regularly like some roguelikes called Crawl Stone Soup, it created a pretty good experience where I wanted to see/do most things once and enjoyed the trip.

The persistent progress in unlocking perks was pretty nice (it's more of an "unlock more potential options" system than something like Rogue Legacy's "become ever more increasingly powerful" approach, which I personally prefer) but dried up fairly quickly. More perks : ( I have all these useless points please : (
