This one was a very good play.
PROS:
- It was short yet engaging;
- Had many outcomes depending on how you played your character (at the time of writing this I have only
played through it once;)
- Very cool atmosphere and quickly got intrigued by the politics happening in the back of this world for the
little amount of time actually got to spend in it;
- Gameplay a fun, piecing clues together and going over information, I will say you don't get enough of those
moments :(;
- I loved the dialogue and there is a lot of it;
- The music was very Noir and just adds to the atmosphere.

CONS:
- Lots of running back and forth chasing dialogue (may get tedious for some)
- Fairly linear, there are side things to view in the world but sadly nothing fulfilling to do other than pushing
the main story
- Other than the investigative moments you really just have that and the dialogue so there is lack gameplay
- It is dialogue HEAVY, so if you do not like to read or soak up the information the story is giving you this may
be a pass.

This is a fantastic gem, I honestly don't know how I found it but it worthwhile and it was a geniunley fun experience. The story was captivating and you get invested really quick. For such a simple game, to do all of this it definitely proves that AAA companies are just ♥♥♥♥ xD.

This juicy piece of cheap DLC's adds hours more of content to the base game and with some neat lil map mechanics they be trying here to further improve their design in future. The characters are cool, and I had a blast nabbing up all the achievements as well.

As always the music is fantastic and the designs for the new weapons are super nifty as well, nothing but joy ahead my homies, so dive right in.

-No action if that's what anyone wants
-Music was lacking (not bad but limited)
-Shorter then I thought (still fighting myself on this one)

The thing that makes this game unique is as you specialize your character into the different mental states/feeds your characters has (eg. Empathy, Endurance, Composure, Logic, and many more) your character gets more and more dialogues from that part of the brain which can sway your thought process behind each dialogue choice/give you more of an understanding behind what is happening during dialogue/ open up new dialogues in the form of Red and White checks/allow you to perform actions around the world.

White and Red checks are dialogue options that and a chance of happening which go up or down depending on the stat it is for (eg. Logic- "You smell because you farted" will be a logic check so the chances of that dialogue option succeeding will be based on how much you have leveled your logic) and what actions you have performed around that could influence the check. Red checks can only be performed once and white checks can be performed multiple times only unlocking again after leveling a stat or learning something new that can influence the check.

Ahh, Disco Elysium...

At first I didn't really get it the game after my first hour into it, so I put it down not thinking much of it.
Then I look at it as the genre it defines itself as and really slowed down my mindset of going into this game, and it is now up there as one of the best story rich and character developed games.

You see, DIsco Elysium describes itself as an RPG where you can CHOOSE what kind of detective/person you want to be (RPG to the truest sense of the genre.) So in my exposure to the game I was just playing it like a crime solving game and just picking all the options and even save scumming for correct rolls thinking it would be a little bit of work for great rewards. When I got nothing out of it, I just chalked it up to being another alright game and moved on.

So I took a break...

Then I picked it up again this past week, and looked at what the game actually is before playing it again. IT being a Detective like story-telling game built around RPG mechanics allowed me to understand more from what it is was actually asking from me, and that was to build my own character and embrace the flaws of that character. So I did exactly that, I made an Empathetic cop who wants to know everything about everyone he interacts with because he believes it all circles back to the case and he does this because he finds normal police work boring because the people make the case and not the standard procedures of the police. I understood he was absolutely garbage at threatening and lying to people not only that he was too clumsy and not the most physically capable cop so he had to rely on his wit to out-smart people and suck the information out of them whilst still making everyone his friend :).

After making and embracing this character I truly fell in love with my character and the world around me, and I was gone. Fully immersed into this game and I heavily recommend you do the same!!

Damn boi, this game is $3 and they are constantly adding more interesting power-ups and characters, and as of yesterday from writing this review they have just dropped and new mechanic which makes playing the game even more enjoyable.

They seem to be very competent at building their game for this rogue-lite genre and can be very addictive to just play and slaughter.

Do recommend a controller for this one, and probably knocking off the damage numbers since they just get in the way and could crash your pc xD

Lastly, I would like to see a step beyond the getting to 30mins or killing Red Death, so in saying that it would be cool to see progression beyond (mainly because i'm getting to the 100% point every patch and wish I could have something that would keep me playing for good; however I understand it is in early access so not yet.)

TL;DR - BUY NOW GAME GOOD :)

Update!! - The Game has also had a very cheap dlc added on with much more characters and weapons, still super fun and I noticed they were trying some things in the new map which has me a lil excited to see if they implement something special in the future. I still love this game, and if you have not gotten it yet then I am sorry but maybe you do not deserve it?

The game is great and all. until you're put on Yellow team then the game is 0/10

The only positive is the easy to 100% ability, however the game is garbage do not waste money on it, even if you want to slap your schlong to the terrible pictures. Thankfully a friend gifted it to me so I didn't waste my money :)

This game really makes you feel special or kicks you in the teeth whilst screaming you're worthless.

My heartstrings have been tugged and then used to make spaghetti. I am so confused a lot of the time whether to laugh or cry, but all I know is that it is the most beautiful game I have played in a long time and don't even get me started on the soundtrack. I could fall asleep or rave to some of the sound choices. HELP ME MAN I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO FEEL .

Excuse me? Why are you still reading this, hurry the eff up and buy the game already.
