I've played both games religiously on the PSP and have tried them on an emulator, both experiences are better. The game looks great but this port has screen tearing at 60FPS (RTX 3070) and bad input delay. I've tried all settings for the input delay but still can't get it to sync correctly with the rhythm. The input times for a perfect press need to either to be bigger or optimized better. There's also no way to test your input setting from the menu aside from changing them and then booting up the game and going back and forth. The input display doesn't change when using a controller so your stuck with <-<-<--> instead of Square, Square, Square, Circle.
Wait for a patch or a sale (if you really want the game) because this is a bad port.

The game's story started strong but left me whelmed at the the end. The music (the strongest part of this game in my opinion) and voice acting are amazing but the lip sync is pretty bad. The gameplay is a bit gimmicky but fun, too easy on expedition mode so I played it on expert. The graphics and art direction are also great especially with the motion captured cutscenes. The performance is good solid 60FPS at 1440p with a GTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 5700X3D.

Why are the textures so ugly. Why does this game run so bad. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next couple of months. The game seems like it would be a lot of fun.

Watch the bosses do endless 6 hit combos and one shot you if you timed your input delayed roll a little too early/late. Have fun chipping away at the bosses health as they give you a half second opening to hit them. Yes the game is playable and beatable but is it fun? No.
The world is beautiful and fun to explore but the magic eventually runs dry doing the same thing over and over. If you value your time then play something else.

Everyone declared war on me by turn 20 because I ignored them. Diplomacy FTW!

Definitely play this game first if you haven't played the Witcher series. It'll give you more appreciation for the entire Witcher series as the game engines and mechanics get better.

-The combat is TERRIBLE! I made the mistake of playing it on Hard during my second playthrough after finishing the Witcher 3 and reading the books. Turn it to easy to make your life easier so that you can enjoy the story.
-Graphics are outdated but the atmosphere is there.
-The voice acting on a few of the characters is pretty bad, but they get better in the following games.

Perhaps the greatest video game that man has ever spawned.

One of the major gripes I had with the game was that they used A LOT of context from the books. Like watching a movie based off a book, I felt like I was missing out on some very interesting backstory. Who really is the Wild Hunt? What was it like when Geralt met Ciri? Why is Ciri so important?
The game does a pretty good job giving gamers just the right amount of information they need but to me it wasn't enough. I wanted to know more. I had to know more.

If you love this universe and can't get enough, my advice is to complete the Witcher trilogy then read the books. You'll find that the games and the books match up incredibly well as if the creator Andrzej Sapkowski wrote the game himself. The atmosphere, tone, characters, voice-actors, gameplay, and lore blend so well together it's scary how perfect it is.

Although the games aren't considered canon, the books are therefore to truly experience the Witcher series I recommend reading the books!

Early Access Review
More like if Another World + Fallout Shelter + Sims + Old School JRPG had a baby.
This game literally just came out and is a lot more playable than many other Early Access games. I attribute Sheltered's Early Access performance to its simplistic design but complex mechanics. It has a very indie feel which I dig. There is a LOT of potential that I am looking forward to as the game continues its development.

The Good
The game is a lot of fun. This survival shelter genre will probably be the new hot thing that a lot of devs are going to start to copy. Lets just hope that Sheltered remains top-notch. I really like the pixelized art, the gameplay is suprisingly complex and varied, and there are some tense and hilarious moments throughout the game. I recommend Youtubing the gameplay to see if you like it because a reading a review doesn't do games any justice.

The Bad
As of right now the game is a bit too difficult. The "needs" meter go up too fast and the rate of finding the items you need for your family is too low. I found a few bugs but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The controls can't be changed as of yet so it can be a bit awkward and difficult to micro your units. It was kinda fun figuring out how to do stuff because the tutorial was very lacking. Many people died during my exploration of trying to figure out what I could do and what I couldn't. Don't worry, they were harvested for later.

Your doing great Unicube! One of the VERY FEW Early Access Games that I've enjoyed and felt like I am going to get my moneys worth and more. Keep it up!
