After playing all heists, can say the gameplay at the core is still Payday, which is why this is a positive. While there are things that need polishing, QoL changes that need to be made, and Final fixing to the servers(which will eventually come to light). The game is fun, and a new breath to the franchise. However, there are HUGE questions as to why a lot of features Payday 2 had, are completely gone. For example:

  • The way the CrimeNet menu UI was set up was amazing in PD2, now changed to a complete Hitman mission select copy (which PD3 does also include cutscenes in-between mission blocks that are even more vague and uninteresting that the Hitman series had) which I really think is an odd decision made.
  • The Stealth Detection based on gear. Gone. Why? I honestly couldn't tell you. They really embraced the memes on this decision I guess. Makes me wonder if we'll get the minigun dlc #2 in the future with option to put a suppressor on it.
  • Melee weapons are gone as well. I kinda get it as there is still shove, but I'd expect heisters to at least carry a knife that does some damage or know how to throw a punch a little harder. I also expect there will be more melee based skills to come considering there is a "CQC Specialist" Tree(none of the perks do anything for your melee attack)
  • Weapons/Mask Purchase and Customization. In Payday 2 the weapon purchasing was much more organized than as it is now, and they removed the number values from weapons so it is hard to tell how much apart different guns and attachments are. When it comes to the mask purchases and customization, it is a lot more limited than it was in Payday 2. I wouldn't mind to see some of the same patterns from 2. New masks is a must, but at the same time I also wouldn't be mad if more of the masks from 2 were also ported to 3 to no cost to the user.
  • Mayhem, Deathwish, and Death Sentence Difficulty levels. These are not here but I expect they are going to be added later as the game just came out and this happened similarly with PD2.
  • Skill Trees. The new skill line system is interesting, and I do like it. However in PD2 the trees were much more plentiful and overall the trees offered much more and specific options. I hope there will be more lines and the existing lines will be added upon a little bit more.
  • And much more. I had to add this in edit because reading all the other reviews made me realize there are a lot more features that I didn't think to add were also missing. Pre-planning text chat is big one for-sure that needs to be harped on.

As those are my biggest gripes I have with the game right now, here's to the game's positives and why I'll keep following development:
  • The new guard escorting system is super neat.
  • All the new casing actions you can do is really cool, especially when cooperating with someone who is already masked.
  • The graphics are a very nice step up from it's predecessor.
  • The audio, music, and voice lines are well done. New drill noise is very nice, much less annoying than PD2 in my opinion, yet the noise is still similar in all the best ways.
  • Finally, my biggest positive this game has is it's future potential. Lots of work to be done by the dev team, but if they listen to the community and look at what was great about Payday 2 and bring some of it back. I really do believe with time this game will only get better as long as the devs fix, change, and add the CORRECT updates and not get greedy or attempt to copy other in-game purchase schemes(loot boxes, battle pass, you get the idea).

Final note:
Didn't know where to put this, but I'm not really at all too fond of the way the in-game UI looks. It is pretty easy to understand and read, so I can't really find any reason to bash on it other than basic looks alone. It's also clear that whatever happened with Overkill, really took a hit on the game too which is a huge downer. My last hope in writing this now is that I can come back in a year and edit this review for the better.

A really fun FPS space fighting and looting game. The many ways you can fight in this game brings a pretty fun evolving battleground. The footsteps sounds are also done pretty well from my experience so far, huge plus. Looking forward to the future of this game for sure!

This game statistically died in a month.

But I would totally play it if it came back somehow

Had 12 Hours in the first day of release, can say it's a really fun Nomadic styled survival game.
