The vast majority of official servers have been completely overrun by bots that are able to instantly kill enemy players, and actively attempt to kick friendly players out of the match, all while using in-game communication to pretend being a real player, or otherwise offer "bot immunity" through payments using real world currency. These bots are hosted by people who have gone as far as committing real crimes against people who have tried to fight them, including threatening, harassing, doxxing, and even swatting.

In 2020, Valve took "action", prohibiting free accounts from using in-game communication, this includes voice commands such as calling for a Medic. The bots still are able to use in-game communication, meaning that they are operated on premium accounts, which are obtained after spending at least $5 on microtransactions. This means that Valve, the company that developed this game, is likely profitting from the bot crisis, all the while they choose to ignore it.

TF2 is a game that I love and I have spent, at the time of writing, nearly a thousand hours playing since I first got into it, still far less than many members of the community, but I can't recommend it when Valve's negligence has allowed it to fall into its current state, not to mention allowed bot hosters to actively hold the community hostage, keeping it under their control by threatening and harassing anyone who poses a threat to their activities.

Valve must fix this game, I don't care if we don't receive major content updates like we used to, I can understand their developers want to focus on new things as it's been nearly 2 decades after its release, but it's unnacceptable that Valve can continue to profit off of it while allowing it to reach such a laughable state.

Fix TF2.
