Just the new fad game of the month.
Game play is pretty clunky and controls are wonky.. Pretty flat game play which quickly becomes repetitive.

Imagine yourself in a desert wandering around on LSD or Shrooms - looking at cool plants, terrain and animals that can possibly kill you. Then all of a sudden, your favorite hallucinogenic drug has worn off, the thrill, curiosity and excitement now become an upset stomach, a dry mouth, and a worn out mental state. You've been in this desert for hours, if not days. Suddenly, you realize you need food, water, shelter to survive and the excitement of a new environment becomes you struggling to survive. It sounds fun for a bit, but as you wander the idea of it becomes more and more unappealing and mundane. That's basically No Man's Sky.

False promises by the developers leaves this game very wanting. This is basically a game lead by a few programmers and ignores basic game-design elements that make playing a video game fun. It's an open-universe sandbox game and like many sandbox games, it gets old fast once the initial excitement of a new game wears off. its repetitive, monotonous, and mundane. There is no multiplayer and ultimately a practice in virtual masturbation. $60 is a steep price and this seems almost as if it's an ongoing beta than a polished and finished game.
