Early Access Review
The game is fun, but I am putting the largest possible asterisk on my recommendation. Between the high speed action, the low resolution, and the flashing lights, the game as it comes out of the box will literally give most people headaches. I strongly suggest tuning the graphics and playing on the lowest difficulty at first, not only because the game is hard but because any player should get a feel for how the game will look before throwing themselves into it. I still cannot play for more than an hour or two at a time without getting a headache even with the graphics set as good as I can get them, just because of how my eyes track the screen.

Having to sign into Microsoft is absurd. The game only has the thumbs up because the games themselves still hold up

I love the Saints Row franchise to which this game was meant to be a spiritual successor, so it's rather saddening that I can't suggest Agents of Mayhem. The fundamentals of the gameplay are fine, with a variety of abilities and respectable movement and shooting mechanics. However, the writing and world that made the Saints Row games so deeply engaging are simply absent here. The jokes fall flat, the character interactions are dry and predictable, and the futuristic Seoul setting is completely devoid of character. There is supposedly a new Saints Row reboot game in the works, and I hope it is able to achieve what Agents of Mayhem could not.

This game is without a doubt the zenith of the Saints Row franchise. Though the city environment is not as lively as SR2's Stilwater, the characters are far more memorable, the writing sharper and funnier, and the situations manage to be absurd in ways that still feel funny and original 10 hours into participating in a game show about blowing up furries. The graphics and physics are dated, but in a timeless way, and I'm still introducing new people to this vibrant and colorful world almost a decade later.

Destiny's content ebbs and flows, and right now seems to be an ebb. There's still plenty to keep a new or casual player engaged, but the game doesn't reward true dedication the way it once did.

UPDATE JAN 2022: it's good now

UPDATE MAY 2024: Oh I really do hope it's still good now

Refunct is an exceptionally preaceful and relaxing game. However, its bright and cheery mechanics also offer a sense of progress and accomplishment that will make you want to play it all the way through.

Simple and visually beautiful puzzle game. It feels very reminiscent of Portal (duh) and the Turing Test, but it has its own spin on the classic physics of such puzzle games. The visuals are simple and surreal but they are very striking. Overall, a fun game to play around with if you like 3D puzzle games.

First, most people are saying that the game is overpriced for the amount of content provided. I bought the game on Steam sale (I believe it was 33% off?) and I consider the game to be well worth what I spent.

The game's main mechanic is quite fascinating and allows for a lot of different ways to play. It's a simple and elegant mechanic that turns this game into something other than a shooter. The short levels and instant restarts, plus the positioning of the enemies, can make the game feel more like a puzzle where each step must be undertaken in the correct order.

That said, I'm easily amused and if you care more about finishing games than about getting creative in them, this one probably isn't for you.
