very well done. if you enjoyed the originals, you'll enjoy this, but even if you didn't play them, they've done enough to make this feel like a modern gem, highly recommended.

If you wanted a sonic game to play with the kids this is the one. Everyone is tails lol. What I mean is that no player is prioritized over another, so if p2 is going faster than p1, and p1 drops off screen, then p1 will have to hit a button to re-appear almost like new super mario bros if i remember right, with the bubble. It can get a bit annoying, but the beauty of it is that as long as one player knows what to do, progress will keep being made through the level. I know reviews are mixed but if you're a parent, give it a shot!

TL;DR The lack of in depth reviews for this game is astonishing to me. If you've been waiting for something amounting to "soulslike" vr, this is it. I've never really felt like I was playing dark souls in vr, except in this game. If your on the fence, just get it, set a timer for an hour and a half and refund it if it's not your flavor. I don't think you'll regret it. But heres as fleshy a review as I can make yet, because this game requires the souls' communities attention.

This game is the only true souls like for vr so far. Proper bonfires. They aren't bonfires but they work like them mechanically, acting as the fast travel station and rest point. As expected whenever you rest all the enemies in the area will respawn, and your free to grind for matter with a refilled health bar and health/mana potions. Matter is souls. The skill tree is a little different then dark souls levels, but level progression is the same; Kill enemies, get matter, die, lose matter, retrieve matter or die trying and lose it permanently. Just what we like lol.

And when you collect enough delicious matter to level-up, you return to the hub area and do a vr interaction with this games firekeeper equivalent to open the level up menu and spend that matter on perk points. Sidenote, naturally, matter also acts as money in this game.

Bosses. I've only fought one so far, but it was incredibly satisfying. It required incredibly active parrying, and was all in all just a difficult boss. I don't find these often in VR.

A satisfying parry system, which offers solid feedback for a successful parry without being too advantageous, or sacrificing your freedom of movement. It's pretty simple to parry a single enemy, but it gets a little trickier, but still entirely possible, when there's a crowd. That combined with the fact that each enemy type seems to have their own move set keeps parrying feeling fresh and a core mechanic of the game.

Most reviews are from early access I think, I saw somebody talking about hit boxes being inaccurate, but from what I can tell, as far as like stabbing somebody in the face through a small space in their helmet and things like that, this is best in class, compared to things like hellsplit or b&s.

Physics, like grabbing enemies is there, but the enemies aren't literal ragdolls like other games. I guess where other games tend to feel like a physics simulator over a combat experience, this game flips that. Physics are there but it's combat first and the physics seem to reflect that somehow, without being overscripted or removed all together. You need to find weak points in armor when attacking as well, as smacking somebody in their metal plate is about as effective as you'd expect in real life.

In conclusion, buy it. Don't like it? Refund. But please, whatever you do, leave a review. This game needs and deserves it.

Best shooter with mods right here, I have over a hundred hours on the quest version. Star Wars Battlefront; here and rad. Team Fortress? There's a mod for that too. Halo? We got a few mods for that one. There's a pretty neat Warhammer 40k mod as well. But enough about mods, there will be plenty of surprises there. I know a lot of recent reviews say it doesn't run so good since the latest update, but having bought the Steam version after the latest update, I can say that although I have occasional crashes, it isn't frequent enough to warrant a negative review, I use virtual to desktop and it honestly only seems to happen if i switch out of steamvr back to desktop when launching. But out of all the shooters on our growing VR platform, I would easily say this is the one that deserves your time, I've put in dozens of hours before getting the steam version, this is probably my 3rd or 4th time buying it overall lol. Don't really remember what they're charging since I'm writing this from my library but if you value a very customizable online VR shooter experience, this is certainly your best option. This game ALWAYS has a couple of full servers too, so it's not dead like many pvp experiences in this market. See you on the battlefront soldier!
