Incredibly fun, especially with friends. Played through it several times now and each time I finish a run I've already started preparing build ideas for the next run or fun things I didn't do prior. The fact that it's getting ANOTHER update adding in even more subclasses and has already introduced mod support just adds to the reasons to keep replaying it.

Pretty unique among the Final Fantasy titles in that it focuses more on the political aspects of war rather than delving too deeply into each character's personal story, which made the game a bit boring to me as a kid but a bit more interesting as an adult.

The gameplay is fairly fun and fluid provided you're not running purely auto-attack builds, though with the addition of the Switch version's updates you're able to respect your party as often as you'd like later in the game. The change to Zodiac Age from the base PS2 version also allows multiple on-screen entities to cast spells simultaneously, which makes casters feel a lot better to me personally. While the game isn't terribly hard on the main stretch of story (depending on your penchant for grinding), the side-content, hunts, and optional areas offer some decent challenges that can test the limits of your character builds.

Would definitely recommend the game, especially if you can nab it during a sale.

Really enjoyed this one! The price for the base game is practically a steal, and the gameplay is simple yet addictive. The DLC seems to work like a season bass that unlocks all additional songs that are released, and expands the song list substantially. Highly recommend even if you only get the base version!

A super satisfying 'not-Castlevania' in a similar vein as Symphony of the Night. Looking forward to the DLCs in the future!

Initially passed over it during its early access phase because I'd heard nothing about it, and then later grabbed it a couple days after its 1.0 release. I can't think of any indie games in the past few years that have grabbed and kept my attention for the time that this game did, and I absolutely love it. The visuals are gorgeous, the writing is very well done, and the characters are fantastic. I did run into a few points of frustration during my run through the game, though it was mostly due to not knowing how to handle specific enemies, and a few of the puzzles were genuinely difficult due to having a timed component. I can't wait to see what more is in store for the game as I'd love any excuse to jump back in and keep playing!
