What's happening:
Myself and many others (maybe even you!) have been affected by the false ban wave, often with the error code "CASERMA-RHINO". This bug has existed since the beta, with many reports of people being banned before they could even launch the game, on a brand-new account. Other people are being banned during the early-access campaign, and countless more getting banned since. There are new reports posted here and on Twitter daily, but Activision seems to brush them off. Despite this, they clearly know there is an issue since Nov. 4th saw many people that were unfairly banned, unbanned with their accounts reinstated. Activision knows it's an issue, but refuses to take any steps to resolve it.

Many people are speculating on the cause of the ban. Some have suggested peripherals (headsets, mice, etc.) others have suggested RGB software (iCue, GHub, etc.) and many have reported it may be an issue with overclocking software (MSI afterburner). The issue is, this is just speculation. Without communication and transparency from Activision, there is no way of knowing what causes these unwarranted punishments. Beyond PC players, many console players are reporting the same issue, with even less information about what is causing the issue.

What's being done:
While Activision may choose to stay silent and sweep this issue under the rug, the community is working hard to gather data and gather reports to encourage action. We have two Discord servers running, where we are working together to put together pieces of the puzzle, and figure out what is causing these issues. We are also working to get this issue brought up to lawyers, who would be able to give us more guidance and get our voices heard. There is also a wiki with a growing list of confirmed reports, as well as resources for those that might not know where to turn.

What you can do:
If you have been falsely banned, the first thing to do is to get the word out. Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn. It doesn't matter, get your voice out there and get it heard. The next thing to do is to join the Discord server(s) and get in contact with everyone else that has been affected. We are working hard to get this brought to lawyers, and we need as many people on board as possible. You should also be filing consumer complaints with as many governing bodies as you can. That means the BBB, Complaints Board, and more.

Personally I have been shadowbanned 3 times now, support is unresponsive as always, thanks to their poor anti-cheat, random players are getting falsely banned while cheaters continue to find methods to circumvent their ban.

I'm far from being the only one, there's literally a website dedicated to "Activision Anti-Consumer Practices" that has surfaced recently because of this and the enormous amount of people this has happened to lately.

I bought MW2019 and held off on buying MW2022, looks like I made the right call.
