It's a disappointing turn for a Legendary Franchise, I can't believe I'm writing out this game in this way. But I have to, coz I bought 2 copies of this mess for my family.

As a long-time fan of the Tekken series, it pains me to say this—but Tekken 8 feels like the beginning of the end for what was once a pinnacle of competitive fighting games. I was crazy about it since Tekken 3, played all games. Spent a lot of time (Tekken 3,5,6,7) and money (Tekken 8)

The game launched with questionable design choices that betray the franchise’s core identity. Balancing feels incredibly off, turning what used to be a technical, skill-based fighter into more of a party game. Characters and mechanics no longer reward deep mastery the way they used to. Instead, it's a chaotic mess that often favors flashy gimmicks and 'all over the screen sparky moves' over solid fundamentals. Pretty much all characters are going through Identity crisis.

On top of that, communication from the developers has been poor. Key features and purchasables were silently added to the shop, and mixed messages from the directors have only added to the confusion. It’s hard not to feel like the development team is out of touch with what the community actually wants.

Tekken 8 had all the potential to be a masterpiece. Instead, it's a frustrating reminder of what happens when a studio loses sight of its roots. I still have hope for Tekken 9 coz I trust Harada will do something to revive it.
