Best game in the series. Hands down.

+ Satisfying gunplay
+ Beautiful, varied environments
+ Well crafted narrative and characters
+ All playstyles are valid options (to progress, not necessarily ideal for the story)
+ Side missions are fun and rewarding

- Lack of graphic options
- Minor plot issues
- Some parts of the story are rather predictable
- Some areas / locations are very linear and don't allow for exploration.

+ Lots of room for flanking maneuvers
+ Solid Multiplayer
+ Relatively good story and characters you kind of care about.


- AI, as in many games can be potatoes
- If the game skips some sort of event trigger you have to reload the mission to proceed

The last version of the franchise I was able to enjoy.

Well designed visually but audio is very subpar. I understand the idea behind it but the execution of the spacey sounds is not that great. Feels very weak and quite compared to the other cars.

Simple and short review:

DOOM, 4th installment stays true to it's roots in terms of Singleplayer. It is fun, gunplay is solid and overall gameplay is very enjoyable.

Other positive features:

+ Outstanding Graphics (PBR, Lighting, Sound, Visual Effects and Environments are well made)
+ Variety of NPCs and enemies that are harder or easier to kill depending on the weapon.
+ Challenging Singleplayer. Played on third difficulty and I had moments where I felt overwhelmed and the soundtrack adds to the panic mode. You usually manage to get through easily if you play smart.
+ Not too casual. Tho it's classic FPS it rewards those who have their character and weaponry under control. The more you understand the mechanics the better you are.
+ Amazing Soundtrack by Mick Gordon. A good evolution from the beloved classics.
+SNAPMAP. Tho it's really simplified and limiting Snapmap allows enough control and features to create fun SP, MP or COOP maps of any kind. Modding at a very basic level but it's fun nonetheless. If other AAA titles could deliver modding tools of that kind this would make it more appealing to the mass.
+ Solid performance if resolution scale is slightly reduced. Not much of a visual difference. 60+ fps at all times.
+ Easter eggs and secrets are fun to search for.

Negative Aspects:

- Multiplayer is overly generic and boring. Gunplay is alright but the rest of the mechanics just make it look like a clone.
- MP gets rid of all the badass aspects of doom with it's cheesy taunts and stupid looking paint schemes for weapons. The Character models are sick tho.

Overall a very solid title that brings fresh air into the series. With a more serious and competetive MP mode and less goofiness in customization it would be a perfect title IMO.

Classical RTS Mechanics with nice visuals. Satisfying gameplay and great soundtrack.

A classic reborn.
