I am excited for this game.

There are a number of things that i think this game does quite well. I find that it is just the right blend of simplicity so that most people can fairly quickly and easily get right into building their vehicle, yet it still has a great amount of mechanical depth and doesnt railroad you when making a car. I have found that the building and testing and rebuilding of a vehicle with newer and better parts and watching your times decrease and your rank go up to be very fun and rewarding.

That being said, this game is in early access, so of course there are the issues that that entails. For example, the camera is a bit wonky and the usage of some tires (particularly small tires and small suspensions at high speed) have some buggy physics that will cause you to basically explode. I don't think that any of this issues are severe enough to deter you from playing the game though (its free after all!).

Rarely have I ever picked up a game I had never heard of on a whim, much less enjoy it as much as I have with Nine Sols.
TLDR: It's like sci-fi Hollow Knight with a parry mechanic, so if that sounds fun to you, then this game is right up your alley.

This game is a lot of fun and although I haven't finished it yet, I definitely plan on doing so. The art in this game is phenomenal and the combat is also very fun. That being said, I do not think this game is flawless and I do have some criticisms of the game, but none of them are significant enough that I think it should deter anyone from playing Nine Sols.

EDIT: I have just finished the game as of 10 minutes ago. It 110% deserves its overwhelmingly positive rating.

The core of this game is it's combat and that is where the majority of my criticism lays. By no means is the combat bad, but I agree with many of the other reviews that say that it could use just a small bit of tuning.

My main criticism is that the combat in this game is highly optimized/balanced around fighting enemies 1 on 1 and in that respect it is very rewarding and fun, however not every encounter is a 1 on 1 and there are multiple bosses that I have encountered so far who are gank fights. This game has very few I-frames, which itself isnt a problem, but makes it so that engaging 2-3 or more enemies at a time very frustrating. Parrying only blocks one attack at a time and talismans will almost always get interrupted if the enemies are faster than snails.* This leaves the player with less options for dealing with groups of enemies, save for the bow and charged attacks.
To remedy this (in my opinion), parrying should be able to block multiple attacks if the attacks land within a few frames, which would make parrying viable for dealing with groups of enemies. Alternatively, enemy AI could be slightly modified so that only 2 or so max would actually be attacking at a given moment (like how fromsoft does in elden ring). Additionally, the talisman should apply to all enemies that you pass through, however its damage should be divided by the number of enemies to avoid making it super overpowered. These changes or something along these lines would be something I would really like to see in order to make fighting groups of enemies more enjoyable.

Despite my paragraph of critisicm, I would still highly recommend this game. If you're on the fence, just grab it already.

Its rare that you find software that is both easy to learn, has a appealing GUI and has a complete kit of features. My favorite drawing software!
