The protagonist, Takayuki Yagami, resigns from being a defense attorney. This is a nod to the fact that Yagami feels sorry that I failed law school.

In all seriousness, the game is great. I never was able to get hooked up to the main Yakuza games, but I've pretty much played the story here non-stop. Currently at the finale (25 hours), and I only have done little side missions.

For anyone picking this up, please don't be like me and do read the help and tutorials. I only found out how to taunt enemies on the last chapter and I am certain there's a lot more I haven't figured out while people in the first chapter have.

Enthusiast sim-racer here, and I like this game much more than I should.
I own DiRT 3; 4; Rally and Rally 2.0. Obviously this game is not a rally game at all, it is much more like DiRT 3's rallycross on steroids and like Showdown.

Handling wise it feels great using a gamepad. Game is obviously arcade, so if you are looking for realism do not even bother. I would say the handling feels more realistic than DiRT 4's 'gamer' handling, but less realistic than Forza Horizon 3 and 4's off-road handling. Surprisingly though braking feels almost like it is from a simcade title or DiRT 4's 'simulation' handling. People could say the brakes feel 'unresponsive' but it feels like cars actually have weight because of it. Will take a bit to get used to, especially if you are used to arcadey 'super-brakes'.

Gameplay itself is fun. AI does seem to be pretty easy on the hardest mode, but that might just be for me. Given the nature of the discipline itself, do expect unavoidable contact with other racers though.
The tracks are amazing with a lot of different location, I also heard there is a track-builder but I have not touched it yet.
Sound department is great on both on-track and in the menus. Codemasters are really good in bringing the right music for most of their games.

Menu is simple and clean with a lot of eye-catching colours. It might look a bit 'too childish/video game'-like, but me having spend way too much time into simulators find this a really welcoming thing. It makes it feel like a game to have fun in, not the typical "I need to win" thing. There is also this 'podcast' like thing that may put people off quite hard, but at least you can skip it. For me, it brings me back to the old Burnout 3 Crash FM radio.

For controller support, I think it is what you usually find in most games. I use an Xbox One S controller and it is fine. I do miss the trigger vibrations, which Codemasters usually implement for all their games. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit disappointing. I have yet to try this on my Fanatec ClubSport Wheelbase 2.5, but I doubt I will. It did immediately pick up my wheelbase though. A godsend from this game is that you can select which controller you use as the primary device. Having 5 controllers plugged in this is great. It does not take any input from the other plugged in devices if you set it like that.

Content wise I cannot really comment on with my 1 hour review yet. Though like I said, the tracks are amazing and with a track editor you technically should have quite a lot of hours of replayability. I have seen that there are campaigns locked behind DLCs.

I think it mostly comes down to the pricing. I would definitely not recommend this game at the current €54,99. But if you can pick it up for around €15, I definitely recommend it.

It's obvious it has the same kind of 'atmosphere' and story-telling of Katawa Shoujo. Slow paced but genuine, there are a lot of things any adult can relate to. While I wouldn't call it a successor to Katawa Shoujo, this is the closest thing you can get. Thank you, Suriko, writer of Lilly's path and co-writer of Hanako's.
