You're better off playing The Long Drive, better atmosphere and night drives, a custom radio where you can add your own music and more interesting locations.

Sure, this one looks "nicer", but thats it, it has no personality, they copied TLD (horribly) without adding anything to the formula.

First of all, which is the most important aspect, from a DW fan to another, the combat is 10/10, exactly what we wanted and dreamed of since the PS4 era.
The attacks and abilities, the thousands of soldiers flying at one swipe of your spear, the chaos of jumping in the middle of the enemies armies and swinging your weapons and pressing the most random buttons is..beautiful, the soundtrack shines in these moments which is also something I judge these games by (I wish there was more soundtracks, but it's fine)
Play it, you'll love it, regardless of the negative points I'll be talking about below.

ok, so..to the second point:
While I never judged DW by the story telling, this annoyed me too much, every single character will harass you sexually or emotionally, that is without doubt what you will understand from what they're saying, Guan Yu has the hots for you, Zhang Fei is a tsundere, Xiahou Dun takes you to dinner 32 times, some new Wei guy always has the "URGE" to see you, the girls will blush and act too girly with you, some Guo Jia guy wants to "talk" to me in private, all the while Xiahou Yuan figured how being fat helps Cao Cao army's logistics.
and thats not all, everyone will make some over the top remark that any person who talked to more than 4 people will interpret them as 'meet me behind the sakura tree to ♥♥♥♥'
whoever the writers are, they have the under developed brain of a teenage girl addicted to high school anime.
what is surprising is Zhang He has the least suspicious remarks of them all..lol

Third point:
86% of cut-scenes and conversations are utterly useless and a waste of time, these 86% can be summed up in the following:
officer: I wanna be the best
you: ....
officer: man you're right..you're the best I'll learn from you and I hope to impress you when you watch me perform in battle my friend, and btw I always dream of your face.

that's it, almost nothing of value in those cut-scenes, every conversation is stupid, the same, or childish, it is sad that developers wasted their time working on these instead of doing something that is actually fun or I actually wanted from a DW game.

----

anyways, I love it regardless, its ugly when it talks, but the combat is so good which I really hope they do an Empires game with it, where we create our own officers or a journey mode like the one in DW5

I shouldn't be praising this, but Netease guys basically copied Overwatch’s code and imported every feature, abilities, characters, modes and pretty much everything—and then redistributed and fused them with slight adjustments to fit the MCU.

There's Starlord Tracer, a female Genji, Doomfist, Hanzo-Eye, The Punisher76, McCree, a thick female Junkrat and an actual DPS Moira (where she belongs).
Sure, these characters were originally created in a 1964 comic or whatever, but it’s still funny.

And the best part is, it actually works better than Overwatch. The matches are fast-paced, healers can cure cancer (so they can keep teammates alive way longer), and the third-person view makes it more laid-back.

Anyway, the game prioritizes micro-transactions if you want anything. All you get to customize your profile is junk, and even that costs. But since it’s free-to-play, it doesn’t bother me too much.

The UI is horrible.

Performance could also be improved. I’ve encountered multiple issues, like characters suddenly freezing mid-game and frame drops that only a restart can fix.

And a personal downside is that you find matches in 0.3 seconds, so there’s no time to watch a 20-minute YouTube video between matches—the way you could in Overwatch.

Regardless, give it a shot with your friends, it fun.

it was smooth, I'm shocked to my core, I had no hopes for this game.
game-play is a bit more complicated than what I want from a DW game, it used to be Onga Bonga, but now its more of a thou onga, therefore I bonga. (block and evasion and all the added abilities for your characters and armies)
but hey! it works if you're an old dog willing to learn beyond the complexity of DW5.

but, there was one thing that assured me that this game is in 'safer' hands, everything was going somewhat well, the game is not running at 16FPS, it was smooth technologically, and battle wise all the allied officers meant nothing against 1 enemy, I had to make sure I save them one by one like children (same as always), then we emerged victorious at the gates...

But wait..
here comes Lu Bu, and we lost in 14 seconds.
I myself replayed that fight 7-10 times just to make sure I wasn't being an idiot, and I wasn't, its just Lu Bu on steroids being the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OP piece of ♥♥♥♥ he's, thats when I knew I'll buy this game, regardless of quality.

if you played Game Dev Tycoon and you're having thoughts about this one,
then the best way to describe this game is to imagine the jump in complexity and deep mechanics between Civilization and Crusader Kings.

These guys hired an addiction expert to get you hooked up for days on this game, I spent a whole week playing it, and when I'm not, I'm thinking about it.

it is stupid the amount of things you can do.

- you can buy studios, and have crazy amounts of options for them, such as how much time they can spend on developing a game, or release exclusives on your own consoles, which IPs to focus on and genres and who to publish with.

- budget your games and release bundles and DLC bundles and GOTY editions...etc.

- do deals with publishers

- separate your own developers across multiple teams and choose which are for developing new games, or releasing updates, and creating remakes for example

- creating IPs or buying them from other companies, each IP has a value and generates certain amount of hype based on your previous releases, I basically copied the Mario formula, releasing spinoff party games, Karting games, even football games from the same stupid IP I created for what is originally an RPG game (and if you're short on cash, you can sell it, but dont, its not worth it if you have a good one, you can just make games and generate more money with it)

- the game is funny when it comes to company names and legendary developers names.
and many more that wont fit here,

so all seems great, whats the catch?

- horrible UI, it is moronic how many features I missed because some options weren't visible or easily accessible, buying other companies (Subsidiaries) for example was under the market stats page which didn't make sense and I thought it was a feature that will be available when I accomplish something, but no it was there all along I guess..

- Automation, this is a feature, but its not up to par with the depth of the game, the amount of mechanics and moving parts are way too many it feels like an airplane dashboard and the automation is a 2 button toy remote, either do everything at once, or nothing,
I cant tell my R&D team to queue certain handpicked features I want, they have to research every single item on the planet one after another forever, or I have to go and do it manually every time.
and the marketing department became my own office, I've spent more time on marketing than the actual development team, just make it so I can tell my marketeers to market every game and spend money automatically to a certain amount of hype, why limit it to one title only for each marketing room?, I have so many products in the market and its boring to click the same options 400 times for every game.

there's a ton of ♥♥♥♥ you can do here, some are very well designed and some are not, but nevertheless it was REALLY fun.

reasonably priced, a simple concept yet very fun.
had two runs, and I'm still left with 18 anomalies to discover.

one piece of advice, its going to be more fun if you go into it blind, dont read too much or even take a glimpse of what is considered an "anomaly" in the game.

The mechanics are very solid, the battles are fun and if you got the itch for a pirate themed game this is the one,
crew system is cool, it doesnt lock you with anything you can replace any idiot with another and easy to manage, rename, and check their stats.

the story telling wasnt something I was expecting, nor I cared about, but play the story, it is enjoyable,

The ship battles at first will confuse you (it should) but once you get that 1 extra crew member it'll become a lot more chill, and I would say too easy, I dont remember the last time I worried about a ship battle (should be a negative) but I'm playing a legendary pirate character in my head, so it doesnt bother me.

the game will throw some ♥♥♥♥♥♥/unlucky situations at you in some locations, which is fun to deal with, not all smooth sailing,

my biggest issue with the game is the lack of crew classes, once you lock your desired plan, thats it, there's no reason to hire anyone except to replace a dead crewmate or replace an extremely mentally and physically impaired one, other than that its not really worth it to hire anyone new if you gained XP with the current crew for a map or two, its basic and dont expect it to be that deep.

give it a shot, it got me the right dose of ARRR!
