Fantastic game. One of the most slept on games of 2020. You can pick the way you want to play before you queue up for a mission. You can do solo or online, plus you can pick how difficult or easy. Constant progression with no microtransactions. Derpy dwarves. It's an all around good time. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Just a fantastic game. A shining star among rogue-likes. I can not recommend this game enough.

People find a lot of bugs and problems, but personally I haven't experienced many. It's just a fun and relaxing time to chill with friends and hunt some stuff.

Early Access Review
This is a hard game. Seriously, don't buy this game expecting for left 4 dead easy style gunplay. The game isn't perfect. It needs a few bugfixes and damage changes. I think giving this game a go with a few friends is a very rewarding experience.

Rivals of Aether is an amazing game. I played a lot of Super Smash Bros with my friends casually, and had so much good fun with it. One problem I always had with Super Smash Bros was the moves didn't feel heavy. In this game, which has a similar style to Super Smash Bros, does not have this problem. Each hit feels like it counts, and parrying is a smooth and skill based mechanic, which I prefer over shielding. It also has coding for things like wave dashing so it can get very mechanical to play, but is still smooth and not wonky. This game can and will take hours of your life away.

Pros:
-Coded well, so has few bugs
-Great U.I. with smooth menu transitions
-Amazing character kits that flow well together
-Well balanced character roster (Basically anyone can be super op, well maybe minus Maypul (Rip Maypul))
-Great tutorial for beginners and experts
-Good control layout and custimization
-Character and skin customization
-Great community
-Premium skins if you want to burn some money (They look really nice)
-Active developers so content is being added regularly
-Fun and interesting story mode
-Special rewards and skins for people who attent offical tournaments or follow social media
-A good and scaling AI system
-Controller support
-Online multiplayer

Cons:
-Will take numerous hours away from your life (I have 73 hours but another 70+ playing locally at friend's houses)
-Peer to peer connection (This can be a problem, but it makes sense for the size of the development team and the style of the game)
-Limited character roster, 8 to be exact. (However, the characters are done amazingly and more characters will be consistanly added)

Overall I would personally say this is a great game for both casual and competitive players, that is well worth $15. Also, playing with friends is really fun, I personally don't like online play that much. Seriously though, there is no better way to play this game than getting 4+ friends together and playing all night, while blasting music.
