Last time I reviewed the game was 2 years ago (old review down below) and since then I have grown as a human, or in other words I have played 300 more hours of this game for total of 500+ hours.
Where I once recommended the game, I can now only endorse and praise it. In my previous review I commented upon the various WW2 aspects of the game, but reflecting back on that my review was like a 9gag user reviewing sex positions.
I dont understand how I missed the social critical aspects of this masterpiece. It shows how corrupt and anti proletariat todays governments using clever tactics. The way you play as a young man in a foreign country forced to fulfill his military duty, but instead find yourself in tankgirl filled world, in which no one is willing to explain to you what is going on is a great analogy for how the government is just trying to use and punish us as soon as we make one wrong step. And before you ask, no, I dont just say this because I lost custody over my child for playing this game instead of going to my court appointment.
In contrast to that however, it does not only show the dark side of life. It also shows the glistening beauty lurking within it. As you encounter multiple beautiful people, from which you can decide on whom to spend time on and build a closer relationship shows how something as ancient as two lifeforms interacting can bring so much joy and fill us simple humans with a sense of hope and belonging. Once you step over the threshold of mindless media consumption you begin to see how this game is giving us a deeper understanding of human needs.
We do not need more advanced technology, bigger army arsenals and flashier media. What wee need is human interaction and love. Like a flower blooming in the black fertile ah of an volcano, feelings shine the brightest where it is the darkest. And the darkest is our automated and unpersonal society. This game takes us where no one wants to go to show us what everyone wants to see. Like an ax on a frozen lake, it breaks the silence.
This game is sure to capture everyone in its glaze, from the "gamer" looking for a quick boredom fix to the truth seekers, wanting to change the world.


Old review:

After playing this game for more than 200 hours, I had the chance to go deep enough into the complex story that this game provides.
Being ingame for only a small period of time I could already see how this game is obviously a big, if not the biggest inspiration for classic games such as "War Thunder" or "World of Tanks". But after getting a bit more into the story you can't help but to feel like you are actually in another world. The only thing I could try to compare the story to, is the emotions of the movie "Saving private Ryan" and the depth of "Inception" and this is probably still not even close. I see many people taking the game for a joke or complaining about how 10$ is way too much for this and honestly I am happy that they are complaining instead of playing this piece of art, for they would not appreciate it. If you are not willing to be taken on a journey through a world the developer of this game put so much heart and mind into that it feels real, you can't devouer every bit of this Masterpiece there is.
For the entire duration of me playing this game there was only one thing that bothered me and that is the fact that on of the characters is named Panzerkampfwagon IV which isn't actually correct, once you do the research you find out that it should be Panzerkampfwagen IV which is german and would translate into Tank-fighting-vehicle IV.
So to sum this review up: Everyone who is interested in the second world war, Tanks or simply a game where you can feel the love of the developer, this is the game for you...

takes a bit till you understand most of the mechanics but afterwards it almost plays itself - in the fun way

This game is awesome, just awesome. I played it more than 1 time and i still love it. This could be the best game i've played yet.
