Core gameplay is really good. Team fights are fun.
Personally I don't mind the gacha aspect of the armory but I understand why people don't like it. IMHO it's not that terrible, the currency is not that hard to get and you'll end up unlocking stuff pretty fast. Besides you can target stuff with the daily and weekly rotation of the armoury (3 daily and weekly items, can get 2 copies of each).

Give it a try, you'll have fun at least for a couple of matches with your friends.
