During the five hours I've played so far, I spent the first hour in the second room of the tutorial dungeon trying to figure out how to attack the first enemy I came across. Didn't read any of the tutorial text, apparently you click and drag the mouse across the screen erratically and hope that whatever you are fighting is too shocked by the appearance of deranged man charging into the room with no sense of direction to kill you first. The only part of the intro to the game that I payed attention to said that I was sailing to Daggerfall, but the boat sank, I swam to a sea-side cave, got trapped within, and found myself stuck in that dungeon. After fighting and running my way out of that dungeon, I found myself in the middle of bum♥♥♥♥ snowy nowhere. No sea in sight.

Fast traveled to the nearest town, spoke to some people, asked about basic things anybody should know about their own town. Nobody knew anything. Found a tavern, the owner was a ♥♥♥♥ and wouldn't talk to me, so I decided to explore the place. First room I enter, some naked chick is on the floor. She has nothing to say. I check out her closest, steal a shirt and some leave, the guards come. I am now a murderer. Decided to walk out of the tavern and explore the town. Committed several petty thefts and a few more murders.

Finally found somebody who would offer me a quest. Some peasant stole a bell or something, I had nine days to get it back. Asked around and was directed to a place on the other side of the kingdom, and it took two days to get there. I attempted to save the game and it crashed.

10/10

I really enjoyed this DLC.

I understand that it's not normally at the top of most lists, but that's usually because it does not include a game-size questline or an expanded or new map. But Hearthfire does have a lot of merits for people who want immersion and a greater ability to play a more dynamic character. You can now build a manor in the wilderness of Skyrim, and live a happy existence alone with your very own fish farm.
Of course, Skyrim is crawling with the needy: orphans who want to leech off your fame and wealth (the fact that you turned them into orphans is irrelevant), various individuals who want to be your servants, and the large number of bandits and giants who seem to comprise half of the country's population.

You can only be disappointed if you are the type of person who plays a game through once, and tries to do it in a few hours. If this is you, why would you buy an Elder Scrolls game in the first place?

An interesting DLC, my views are mixed.
It makes playing Japan and China a great deal more interesting to play. There is now an internal political system in China, and Japan starts out as a feudal union of various states competing for the title of Shogun. This also means that expansion, economic success, and etcetera are that much harder to bring about. China will probably not be your favorite country to play as, as its system is super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

The good news? If you are playing as a Western European nation, it'd be much more accurate when dealing with the East Asians in your imperial and colonial expansion. When playing as a Japanese daimyo, you might enjoy working your way up to Shogun, and maybe, in time, uniting Japan under your rule.

A lot of changes have been made since I first started playing this many ages ago, the vast majority of them great.

So, here's a spoiler:
Your plane crashes on some island, and this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steals your stuff. You embark on an epic quest to retrieve your belongings and murder a punch of savages to death, eating their arms and legs. The good news? That is the good news. If you can manage to survive, you will probably not actually finish your primary mission of retrieving that high value property, surrendering it to its fate. You might not, but probably.

Buy this game.

Nothing better than a game where the Aztecs colonize europe and attempt an ill advised march on Moscow in Winter.

Seriously though, a good game for anyone.

So I've been sitting here waiting for Darth Vader to appear, or the Death Star, or something ! I mean, I couldn't understand how this tied into Star Wars at all. I was rather perplexed by the fact that the emperor wasn't Palpatine, so I thought, oh, well maybe this is one of those post Palpatine games based on the comic book storylines, but then where are are the lightsabers?! Really confusing. I went through the Knights of the Nine questline, and also saved Kvatch, couldn't find a single wookie or refrenced to the Jedi or Sith, or spacecraft, nothing. I assumed that if I played long enough it would be clear, but still no. I was just about fed up and ready to call it quits when I realized the game titledthe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Fun game, haven't played it in a while but I used to play it with one of my friends quite a bit. Wish they would have incorporated religious, national affiars into it more. Could have added a few civilizations or leaders but ultimately one of the best games I have played.

So I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind turn-based gaming.

Loved it. Can't get enough of it. The various questlines are freakin' awesome and the characters are very interesting. Cicero is an annoying b###h but you can kill the little dude so it's fine. Large world, not as big as Arena or Daggerfall but that's fine because it makes up for it by making the entire map interesting (still find new things). My favorite game by far, can't wait for an Elder Scrolls VI.
