Don't buy this game, unless you want to pay to quality test without reward.

This isn't an enjoyable experience for returning players, let alone new players. This version of the game is plagued with bugs and poor decision making that sours any possible experience. Several key features from previous games have been removed while other half-baked ideas are clumsily added in to justify the ludicrous price tag.

Dynamic eras are borderline irredeemable as each era resets city state development (or otherwise removes them entirely) and reduce your already established cities back into settlements (unless you have the perk that prevents this). Not including the issues present in multiplayer as a result of loading between eras (while also progressing several centuries without player input)

The UI is vague eyesore. The character and quirks found in an unexplored map, or intuitive displays of data of previous games is absent entirely.

The selection in character, map, and customisation are at best forgettable. Fan favourites are locked behind account linking or disregarded entirely. There are 5 seemingly identical maps with little variation in generation. Where previous entries excelled at creating an inviting and addicting atmosphere, Civ VII compels the player with doing anything but playing one more turn.

I can't stress this enough: In it's current state, don't purchase the game. Most positive reviews are based on an optimistic perspective that future updates might hold, not the current version you would experience if you purchase the game.

Stick to other 4X games, older editions of Civ, or wait at least a year until potential progress has been made.

Current state of the game is trash. Not worth $30, not worth $20; I doubt it would be hold any value if it were free.

There is not a single redeeming quality of this game. The minimal content, arbitrary difficulty, terrible UI, and what appears to be a distinct lack of attention from anybody that worked, or is currently working on this game.

I can understand early access stumbles and initial launch issues; but this is too much. Torn Banner Studios should have kept the pattern and move release dates yet again, at least then we could have a gossamer thin amount of hope for an end product that is functional, fun, or the bare minimum: free.

Avoid this game like the plague it is.

Some problems in its current state:

- Abhorrent networking issues. Enemies teleport, hit you through obstacles, and absurd load times to join games (if the game doesn't crash first.)

- Mandatory online, no single player, and no private servers. You can't search through a server list, as there currently isn't one.

- Mediocre content. Sure the map is "open-world" but whats the point of exploration if the tedium of enemy spawns, constantly reused assets, terrible mechanics, result in an exercise in curtailing expectations than enjoying a game?

- The mechanics they did include are terribly implemented. Inventory in the original NmriH that was an intuitive compass, is now a clunky bumbling mess. The stamina system is a joke, you run out of energy swinging a weapon 3 times; leaving you at the mercy of the hordes of teleporting undead.

I'm aware I don't know how to program, sound design, level design, animate, or game test; its clearly apparent neither do the underpaid employed by Torn Banner.

Whatever money I felt cheated out of from purchasing and supporting The Dead Linger, Abiotic makes up for it.

As if the Lithuanians didn't have enough on their plate, now they can't enjoy spreading Super-Earth Freedom™ because of corporate greed.

** Still banned in Lithuania, but now I don't need a PSN account; A+ **
