My game of the year is: Mystia's Izakaya.
While being a Touhou fan game: it's very un-touhou like.

The only thing that carries over from Touhou is the characters.
The game-play is like Cooking Mama and Stardew valley mixed together with a hint of animal crossing.

The main game of cooking for your customers, and friends is simple to understand, but hard to master. There is a surprising amount of depth with how you can mix and match different recipes with ingredients to maximize customer happiness.
As you progress further this depth is furthered by the introduction of employees and different levels of your Izakaya.

The game is not hard by any means, but the few boss fights in the game can create a surprising amount of tension when the timer gets close to zero.

All this backed by an amazing chip-tune soundtrack full of remixes of classic Touhou songs, and original pieces.
It even has some fully voice acted and sung songs for the intro, and credits.

All in all: this game has an insane amount of love and care put into it.
It's truly one of, if not the best Touhou fangame. It stands side by side with Luna nights.
My only complaint would be the lack of side quests after the main story is complete.

great 2hu fangame. if you enjoyed luna nights or most metroidvania's, then you'll love this game.

Really great game. the grand daddy of the modern zambino game.

MY GOD, THIS GAME IS AMAZING. NOT ONLY DOES IT HAVE GOOD ADVICE. IT SEEMINGLY REVIVED THE RAPIDLY DYING COMMUNITY OF TOUHOU. THE AMOUNT OF VOICE OVERS BY YOUTUBERS THIS GAME HAS ONLY ADDS TO THE ENJOYMENT. IT WEIRDLY FITS SAKUYA'S CANON PERSONALITY FROM THE MANGA.
IT HAS INSPIRED ENTIRE SUB-GENRE OF THESE TYPES OF GAMES.
FOR THE PRICE THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO GET IT.
10 OUT OF 10 WOULD TALK TO PAD-MAID AGAIN.

Cute story. wish it was longer, but you get what you pat for. It is well worth the 2 dollars.


10/10 Would hangout with Pad-Maid again.
