The last update has caused me to no longer support this game, nor its developers.

The game has been abandoned.

In it's current state, no way. Griefers are too real. It's far too easy to lose everything. You should have to opt into PvP.

Followed this game since the early Alphas and put hundreds of hours in pre-steam. What Tynan created is truly amazing. It's polished, it's elaborate, it's immersive. Easy to play, harder to master. I've failed more time than I can count due to starvation, colonists misfiring others and crippling them, overwhelming raids I wasn't prepared for because I was beautifying my colony, or lest we not forget the mad squirrel that mauls your people to death.

A few mods will help clean up the experience a bit without changing the gameplay too dramatically. The game certainly doesn't need any though.

I plan to follow this one for long to come.

Definitely a great coop game if you have a group of 4. It is hard - but in a good way. You are challenged and rewarded for that challenge. Not ideal to play without a max group or with randoms as working with a team is 99% of the game (the other 1% is having good aim). If you bring along an AI, prepare for them to be of little benefit other than getting in the way.

Still, everyone should try this at some point. It really is a blast.
