I think the negative reviews are a little bit harsh, this is a good game with a great premise but I do have two complaints:

1) - Let me queue up actions while paused, there's no point in having 4 thieves in a heist if I only do the actual heisting with one guy.

2) - As far as the abilities I can see during the intro of the game the thieves will always be basically the same, there's no 'master thief' end-game as the game implies, yeah sure you'll be able to scale walls and jump rooftops but then you do it and you're still cockblocked by a random civilian patrolling the floor, there should be an ability for manipulating people and getting them out of your way.

Also I'm probably playing it wrong but even on the easiest difficulty I'm finding it hard to make money, if I'm lucky I will have items for 5-30 gold which fill up the 3/4 shop slots so I make like 80 gold but the upkeep is 20 so it took me 3/4 days to make 60 gold profit and then factor in my thief recruits which are required for missions & I'm actually losing money overall, the only thing that keeps me afloat is the free storefront in the hideout.

But anyway as long as the devs fix the pause/action issue this will be a much more fun Omerta-type game.

5/03/17 - Currently 2 major bugs

- Pirates spawn too much, causing lag, crashing & harrasment, had to start a new game because of this without pirates.

- Can't finish generated quest line.

This game has a lot of potential, it's basically stellaris without the tediousness of stellaris and some more interesting management mechanics, in my opinion it also has a higher difficulty curve because there are a lot of synergy mechanics almost everything in this game has synergy opportunities with everything else and the UI definitely isn't straight forward although it does look very nice.

I love the fact that occupying a planet means it's yours unlike stellaris' war score system which I don't think makes sense or is enjoyable, this makes millitary victories so much less tedious.

Would really like to see the customization system improved over the original and automatic fleet management (set to aggressive, pacifist, etc)

Whether you should get this or stellaris is really based on whether you prefer turn-based or real-time strategy, personally I will prefer this game once it's finished.

+ One of if not the most optimized pc game I've ever played, smoother than butter ultra 144hz with a 390

+ New hacks, parkour and weapons are a lot of fun

+ The most amount of customization items of all open-world games, barring colour customization

+ Driving & Combat are immensely improved

+ Very good animations

+ Story/Character development feels genuine, not quirky

+ Decent soundtrack

Honestly I have nothing negative to say about this game, if you're gonna get an open-world game get this one, it beats out GTA in my eyes.

Spec: I5 4690k, AMD R9 390.

Warning: Not sure if it's me or the game but I've hard crashed 3 times in 1 hour, meaning I have to cut power, for me this isn't an issue as I have power protection but if it is the game this could potentially corrupt OS.

Good:
- Lots of customization
- Props are extremely high detail and well optimized
- Great lighting
- Great animations
- Terrain & Water editing is up to scratch
- Compared to RCTWorld it's 1000x better
- It's Frontier obviously it's a good game.

Bad:
- The filter needs a lot of work, Ex. if you filter for Sci-Fi you will only get a small portion of what you would consider Sci-Fi
- Some objects are very hard to find, partly due to the small UI and partly due to the filter system, you basically have to know what some objects are called if you want them or spend 10 minutes looking for them
- Can't start without the path and half of it is out of the boundary so you're stuck with the red path at the entrance.

Scrap what I said, all of the outside areas are plagued with the same issues as the first area so it is completely unplayable even with a 390, denuvo, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization, don't support this with your money.

Basically a multiplayer state of emergency.

+ Fun game design, it's fun and addicting to play
+ Performance better than Mafia 3
+ Molotoving stores/Anarcho-Communist/BLM simulator
+ Melee and ranged classes are balanced

- Combat is button spammy
- Needs more maps and game modes

It's only when something bad comes out (no man's sky) that people appreciate the good thing they had previously.

Here's my pointers

- Yes it can be grind-ey
- No the grind is NOT mandatory
(You can do everything you can in a 50million credit ship that you can in a 120k credit ship people just don't understand that the massive grind is only for people who LIKE to grind and that's an option for them if they want to do it the 6million and above ships can easily be beaten by smaller ships and a bit of skill all the expensive ships give you is maybe a 5-10% improvement)
- The game is still fun if you choose to grind

- The game offers hundreds of potential hours of fun
- It's perfect for multi-tasking with a tv show

- Yes there is a steep learning curve
- Yes there are tutorials and wiki's

Frontier is a good PC focused developer, this is one of the most optimized PC games of all time and this is 100x better than no man's sky.
