its pretty good

Don't get ahead of yourself, things are not as they may appear to be. If you thought this was just a card game, you'll be satisfied. If you're expecting more, you'll be elated!

To put it simply, this game rules. If you enjoy surreal horror this game should already appear on your radar purely on the art style alone. The heavy Zdzisław Beksiński influence is immediately apparent in almost all the designs from the environment to the individual sprites. The amount of variation the environments and enemies brought to the table really carried this game and made it feel longer than the 5 hours it took me to complete it. I cannot commend the art direction and style enough. I absolutely fell in love with this game.

The combat in this is also fun if you enjoy bullet hell and quick dodges to avoid attacks. Some bosses are a bit on the easy side but all of their designs are interesting and unique. The combat really shines when there are a ton of enemies on screen and you mow them down with a machine gun or dash up to crowds with the break action shotgun mow 'em down.

This is also a perfectly contained experience. Its fast, agile and does not overstay its welcome. it tells you what it needs to and leaves the rest to you. I believe with shifting around some of the items and making some power ups more useful longer this could be perfect and absolutely worth double the price. I just hope we get to see more soon! Definitely a developer to keep your eye on.

This is not a /bad/ game by any stretch of the imagination. It is simply overpriced. $59.99 is too high for the content here. They did make good models and animations, and it is quite fun (albeit exceedingly repetitive). Unless you are a die hard fan of Berserk, wait until it is on sale (which never happens)

This is not the worst game ever. In fact, it is very fun when it shines. The story however, cannot stop itself from taking the reigns for the majority of the time you play it. That would be fine... if the story was any good at all. The characters are nonsensical, they make terrible decisions (and not ones that are terrible in moral or unethical ways; that would make it at least a bit interesting) that make absolutely no sense. The worst part is the main character, Deacon. He is absolutely insufferable, to the point where I looked to mods to replace his model and I skipped any dialog I could. He mumbles constantly and narrates the weirdest actions. Boozer is at least a bit likable especially after he gets a machete arm and how much more level headed he is compared to Deacon.

The only time I was interested in the story was when NERO got involved and they investigated the zombies. Everything else feels like a bad biker Walking Dead TV show rip-off for old people that don't understand nuance or "Show, don't tell".

The most frustrating thing is that the game play, when the game finally decides to let you play can be a blast. The number of NPCs in hordes is impressive. As far as I am concerned, the zombie system in this game rivals Left 4 Dead's because the individual zombies don't feel paper thin. They keep up and sometimes end up overwhelming you if you are not careful. Some zombies will break from the path and take different routes to reach you. It is all very cool. I wish they would utilize the mutated variants of the zombies as well. They are in the game, but are much rarer than the rest of the regular grunt infected.

Even fighting humans is not bad at all. The AI is nothing to write home about, but the feedback when they are hit is not bad, although they do rely on human fights more than zombie ones for some reason.

The worst offense is that they called the zombies "Freakers" which completely, utterly sucks. Seriously, it feels like something a 12 year old who isn't allowed to swear would come up with. I cannot recommend this game unless serious changes are made. Hopefully they can resolve the issues with a sequel, because there is serious potential for a fun game here.

i like break things

This remaster tweaked the tank controls the original had and made the game more playable which was the most significant change in my eyes. Really makes the game feel more alive and increases the pace considerably. An excellent remaster.

Brutal and Exceptional FPS game. The farthest limits you can go with a mouse and keyboard. If you like to be on the edge of your seat and hyper-focus on combat, buy this game immediately.

This game gives me the most pleasant brain tumors. Buy it moron.
