So feel free to call me friend... well.... unless like you need money or anything like that :)
Populous 10 Dec, 2020 @ 9:18pm
... and yet so much of your story matches mine... as if a brother from different parents. Also including the friends passing..... too fricking many if you ask me. Don't tell anyone I am an old man like you my friend, and not some 15 year old kid with no life, but CS.. My friend I have come to enjoy you and as you are friends with Beth2020... whom I miss greatly, I and would miss you... almost... as much :steamhappy:

I only have a few friends (less than five) that as I would put it
"I trust them with a loaded handgun while standing behind me"

As I haven't been to many SciFi conventions in this century, so most if not all my out of town friends have literally died off. And I pretty sure there is less than ten(10) people who knows my real name.
Unless I'm dealing with a Canadian provincial or federal government agency I never use my birth name.
I was even known as 'Evil Dave' when I was working professionally as a custom software developer in the previous century. I have been on provincial disability since about 2003.

Wow Evil Dave, been there and done that.... Good you have a resolve.... I don't seem to attract those kinds of friends that have my back.
Evil Dave of Canada 28 Nov, 2020 @ 5:42pm
It's a good thing that I posted all those links in because do to a mistake I made when having Win10 reinstalled, I lost ALL of the documentation that I had created. well at least I don't have hunt for this solution again. My friend who also plays CSL tried those steps and it seem to work for him.
Populous 28 Jun, 2019 @ 6:06pm
Sorry, I did not get notice on this. Thank you my friend and will check it out!
Evil Dave of Canada 2 Jun, 2019 @ 5:02pm
"Boformer" came up with the solution and others RE-POSTED it on a LOT of forums.

There may be more but try first googling "Boformer"
then search for "savegame", "cimtographer", "ModTools" & "GetLatestSaveGame()"
That should find all of the above URLs and maybe more.
I stopped at the answer that gave step by step instructions using ModTools and it's debug console.
I copied & pasted the solutions in to a RTF document and had to go back to my browser history to get the URLs which I now have documented as well.

Here are the URLs for the information on how to import a savegame in to the Map editor and how to import the prefab maps in to it as well.
If it works for prefab maps it will most likely work for any map on the workshop
Populous 2 Jun, 2019 @ 3:27pm
Very cool, yes I would, thank you.
Evil Dave of Canada 2 Jun, 2019 @ 12:07pm
Do you want the URLs?
Populous 2 Jun, 2019 @ 12:00pm
I'll check it out.
Evil Dave of Canada 2 Jun, 2019 @ 10:26am
Boformer documented the way to do it.
I cut & pasted all the instructions JUST IN CASE the links go away.

Sounds like fun! Hope to see pictures.

Finally found the map that I have been searching for. It is Cliffside Bay.
It is a Base Game European prefab map.
Now all I have to do is follow the instructions that I finally found to import a map from a save game into the map editor.
1) Create a very basic map
2) Save it
3) Start playing
4) Make all the edits I want using vanilla assets & Natural Disasters
5) Re-import the map from the save game back into the map editor
6) All random effects on the map using the paradox assets & effects will stay

This way I can use the different Ragnarok versions instead of trying to fake it myself, which never looks as random.

Definitely had a MUCH more active like than me. I was just joking about not having to explain my spending money to anyone except my cat who statistically should live longer then me.
Evil Dave of Canada 28 May, 2019 @ 10:38pm
Don't know if I'm lucky or not to not have to answer to a significant other.
Populous 28 May, 2019 @ 6:35pm
I hope you can too. For me, my computer is my income and so have put the coin into each computer build... games don't justify to my wife the purchase of pc equipment :)
Evil Dave of Canada 28 May, 2019 @ 7:38am
I only have a 21" 1080p monitor so you are still ahead of me.
I'm hopping that when my Canada Pension Plan starts paying out next year, I hope I can afford something decent

I am a huge fan of Micro enabled keyboards and have always made a point of having one over the last 15 years and like the mechanical feel of they mechanical keyboards along with the click sound telling me I did actually press the key.

Some keyboards, like mine, can be setup so select keys are select colors depending on game... blue movement keys, green inventory, orange weapon select etc.

I want a 50" monitor.... I presently have two 27"
Evil Dave of Canada 28 May, 2019 @ 2:08am
My big problem with playing C:S is that I've never played any computer games that use the WASD system.
I'm looking into getting a auxiliary mechanical keyboard where all the 30+ keys are aligned like the numeric keypad and can be programmed to send what ever keystroke I want for each key.
Then all I have to do is get clear snap-on key tops so I can label each key to my liking.
I figure with a ancient button only game controller and that I can play with out using a standard keyboard where I can't remember the key mapping all the time.
The controller was only USD$5.00 on eBay but the keypad is around USD$100.
Which is still cheap compared to the cost of a Logitech G510s Gaming Keyboard at CAD$389.99 plus taxes & shipping that I have.

I have never used them for gaming but they sure are nice for programming.
I also have the original G15 keyboard that it's based on.

Now all I have to do is buy a 2nd 30-40" monitor to have my home made .rtf cheat cheat open while I'm playing.

I actually check both any time a message comes in as I enjoy people and get the opportunity to meet and get to know people from around the world.
Evil Dave of Canada 27 May, 2019 @ 5:33am
sounds good, people like BadPeanut & BloodyPenguin say they don't check their mod comments that often but I have to believe that they check their Profile comments more often.
Populous 26 May, 2019 @ 9:58am
Ha! My profile says I was online ten days ago????? Lets run none asset related questions through profile page if that is cool... that way I can look back when I find something new and share back.
