Bite sized adrenaline shots of retributive rampages that harken to the room clearing, weapon juggling flow of Hotline Miami (or more recently released 3d contemporary Anger Foot) with a light focus of parkour movement and stylish flair for high grade ranks almost like Neon White. Story is a breezy 2 hours of missions interrupted with radio conversations for light story dressing but RJ Lake's voice direction (following their great work in El Paso Elsewhere) gives the action an effective pathos. The meat of the game is its replayability for refining efficient battle plans between 25 story missions and 15 additional unique challenge levels which almost beg for you to knock the dominoes of action set pieces down again this time tighter. A fast combat loop, a stylish timing score system, and a soundtrack to play loud all combine to make this albeit succinct game worthy of a seat amongst its influences.

Worthwhile homage to its influences. The control on this is so tight the muscle memory of playing max payne 2 just reawakened up within minutes. The fantasy noir blend works really well for a surprisingly enthralling narrative between slow mo dodging pistol clips into mummy skulls. Its soundtrack is a...choice that grew at on me by the end but hearing the lyrics kick in might knock the wind out of you the first time it happens. Definitely pickup if you're a fan of its Remedy predecessors.

Refreshing to see a take on lo-fi horror akin to the c64 computer graphics that isn't just slapping a vhs filter over everything and calling it a day. Part 3 of the trilogy is where you get your money's worth but they're all worth going through. Less is more with its Atari style control scheme of just analogue stick + one action button which makes getting chased by thralls in the pitch black woods tense but leaves something to be desired with some boss fights being controller bitingly clunky. Still worth seeing it through, you won't believe how a square wave chord can leave your spine shivering.

hollow knight but replace bugs with catholicism! nothing extremely revolutionary in the metroidvania front in that regard but very worth it for the style and extremely gnarly sprite work.

Other people have said much better words about this (to which their recommendations are why I played it) but let me be one more to say it's great. Excellent sprite work make the world feel surreal yet genuine. No game writing quite has its finger on the pulse of the current cultural moment quite like trawling your decaying childhood suburb struggling with several vying corporate takeovers amidst dumb image board posters complaining about sjw mods and their favorite hentai
