Game of the year every year

I didn't even like twin stick shooters until I played this game

I have never been more disappointed in a sequel in my life. Splitgate one was a masterclass on how to revive the genre, stifled only by a small dev team. I'm assuming they then got an angel investor who took control of major design decision, because they just.. turned the game into cod with abilities and dumbed down portals. I have never seen a more soulless project in my life. Not even concord can compare.

A callback to late 2000's game design where everything you do feels impactful, there is no predatory monetization, blood and guts everywhere, yet still manages to be groundbreaking at the same time. Extremely impressive game that just keeps getting better, even if the servers are usually dogwater for a day or two after each major update.

Where are all the fat chicks?

Jokes aside, this is unironically a very poorly designed game. Every update makes the game worse, as now you can no longer get in game currency from playing daily, meaning you can do less pulls and can't get as far during events, which are THE ONLY WAY to level your characters. Once you get to rank 21, you will move at a snails pace unless you spend $30 every two weeks. The devs are legitimately some of the worse I have ever seen in a game. Every new character is game breaking, all the commanders you can pay for just naturally get 100 more health than the ones you start with, and they just make the grind worse and worse. They added a new allegiance mode to get extra rewards, but you get nothing good for completing it or even getting 1st. Legitimately one of the most dissapointing dev cycles I have ever seen because this game has unironically good gameplay until rank 21

This game is like therapy but you're a ball, not a pickle

This game should be studied by Sega so they can learn how to make an actually fun, fast platformer

Everyone review bombing this game has the IQ of an icecube. All they had to do was literally just press backspace on the hunter menu to have much better AI.

I've only played it for three days, but I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite indie games without a doubt.
