It's a great game, although my hours are much lower than my actual playtime because I mostly play through Discord. You can find why in other reviews. I'm writing this one to make sure that relevant misunderstandings are cleared up.

Both of the "caveats" in the top rated negative review at time of writing (lack of 8p local multiplayer and inability to select a server) have both been resolved. The game is also still receiving content updates with new characters and maps among other things coming in a future update.

There aren't that many players on non-NA servers, but my friends in the EU get good enough ping to east NA that they're still able to play here.

There *are* players on NA servers, except on sunday nights where many of them are participating in events over at discord.gg/killerqueenblack.

If you've played the arcade game, THIS IS NOT THE ARCADE GAME. Don't expect it to be the arcade game, and don't expect a "Classic Mode". It's a different experience with the same core mechanics (think Joust).

(Disclaimer: I received this game for free twice, once on Discord through their Nitro subscription, and then a second time via steam gifts, was part of the - also free - open beta test, and still participate in closed tests.)
