TLDR: This game is has the best world building, an amazing lore and story if you stop to search it, and the game mecanics/ combat system are old but still pretty good

100% Recommend

DARKSOULS (1) has the greatest WORLD BUILDING

- The interconnections between areas in early game
- The build up of stress/pressure while exploring until you find that sweet bonfire
- The fast travel unlocked at the middle of the game makes you ables to switch between the corners of the world without being so op that it remove the need to explore

- Amazing lore and storylines that will require you to read thousands of item description (or watch hours upon hours of lore videos) to "fully" understand the world around you

- NPCS with more or less interesting storylines

- Simple but very good combat system, tho still a bit wanky compared to future iterations

If its too hard, just give up or git gud
This game is a masterpiece in EVERY sense of the the way,

- Sensational world building,
- Complex lore that requires YOU to search for it (through item description and more),
- Amazing NPCS and storylines,
- Musics that transmit emotions and stories,
- A simple yet refined gameplay (camera is still your enemy tho),

this game is not overrated, it is worth every second spent on it
if you haven't played it or are scared to, please, give it a shot and dont give up
